I was having for about the 5Millionth time a debate with my elder brother who is a die hard bcbg fan and very close to the group (and me being huge fan of both groups) about who contributed most to wenge between jb and werra and at some point when it "calmed down" lol
i said to myself somehow if we mixed the attributes of the 6 admins of the group we get the "perfect musician"
jb is a charismatic good/great singer, werra is(also charismatic of course) a man with endless ambition and determination, blaise sings with much experience and efficiency, makaba the artistic mastermind, masela the man with vision and maturity, adolphe the big entertainer
you mix all that together you have a musician impossible to compete with, which shows how complementary they were

True. All of them had attributes that complimented one another. United they stood. Divided, they almost fell, but they rose again, individually.

Side bar: Werrason and WMMM has produced more offshoots (Bill Clinton, Celeo, Ferre Gola, Fabregas, LBG, Heritier, Kabose, Didier Lacoste, JDT, Robhino, etc...)  in the current music scene than any other of the original members. I wonder if he gets credit for "expanding" congolese music.

There was an egg called wenge musica and artists were fault lines held by complementarity. Cracking into two meant all fault lines opening up and the egg went into splinter peices.

Werrason is credited by many as having produced artists. But i believe its because of a huge turnover in his band and massive competition. In the other one, bcbg you have old artists who are there to stay and die so you have had artists climbing the ladder at snail pace thus having a huge gap in building capacity for talent. I dont blame him very much because he lost the first PPU which broke his heart. Ever since, he fears raising up talent. In the end JB looks like he is not teacher. Even nyoka longo is teaching young ones like lola digital and evoloko to take over while jb farts with his old sloppy ones.

Archos...when you look at kibense, do you think he can do anything apart from being jbs walking stick? I dont think so. One day you will see him playing drums due to low calcium in his bones and inability to dance.

Gentlemen, you simply don't get, JB Mpiana like Ferre,Koffi and Papa Wembe is there to entertain his fans himself, he can go it all alone with accompaniment from an acoustic guitar only and people will still buy his album and it's the same for the other ones i have mentioned but with Werrason, his strategy is to front talented singers and instrumentalists so when they join him, they realise that he is using them and they move on fast, others just go there to have a chance of going abroad with him then running away ,others it's to market themselves and then become solo artists. Why is their a high number of musicians leaving Werrason? It's not that he runs an academy where people go for training, they leave when they wake up not that Werrason gives them certificates to go solo.

More Musicians have left Koffi and Wemba than have Werra and all three have always fronted their best singers.

Let's be frank here, apart from Ferre Gola and Fally Ipupa the students of Werra and Koffi respectively, which other 5th generation musician has made it big? No one, Fabregas is not yet there but he's promising. Let's go to Papa Wemba's Viva, who has made it there? No one ,We move to Wenge Tonya Tonya,no one, Wenge Ponderation? No one, Wenge Musica Zabala Bakulu of Didier Masela, it's dead so why is JB Mpiana always singled out? Are you guys really serious with your criticism or you just have too much time to rant.

You could say Didier Lacoste came out of Wenge Tonya Tonya. He's somewhat successful. Reddy Amisi could be attributed to Viva la musica of Papa Wemba. Success level for all these guys may be different, but if you make a CD (one or many) and hold concerts several times, that could be considered as being successful (at least to them). Unlike people like Adjani, or JTrois who disappeared completely.
