Sad that Japonais could not adjust his style till he was eventually pushed to second best by Flamme Kapaya who was mainly on rhythm when the band was just assembled,i bet Japonais hates Flamme.  ;D

I doubt he would hate him, japonais is all rounder good at rhythm, bass and lead, flamme in contrary was naturally a lead guitarists so I think it was normal for him to become number one and japonais did adjust his style listen to his lead partition on kibuisa mpimpa and a la queue leu leu it's much more of a modern style plus japonais prints to maison mere it is what shaped up the style of future lead guitarists such as mogratana, Christian solo, Luxembourg solo and arc en ciel.

I know about Japonais being versatile but it's unheard of for a lead guitarist to be literally demoted,i can understand for Coréen who played lead whilst with Bozi but joined as a rhythm guitarist in Maison Mere but for Japonais who started as lead guitarist from formation of the band to now be limited to rhythm and mi-solo and sometimes going on bass was really sad. In Congolese music, all eyes are on the soloist.

I don't know if you typed this by mistake ''japonais prints to maison mere it is what shaped up the style of future lead guitarists such as mogratana, Christian solo, Luxembourg solo and arc en ciel.'' I think it's Kapaya's influence which led to the alternative of Luxembourg, Mogratana like Japonais and Ficarre has his own style and took long to adjust that's why he never started any leading generique on any of Werra's albums apart from the solos and one or two songs but Christian Solo was well established and known and showed his skills on the album Intifada and Mortel Combat with Intifada having been released before Flamme Kapaya actually became aggressive on lead, Kimbangu was Kapaya's competitor in Bill's band at the same time Kapaya started his aggressive style of soloing and actually Luxembourg took it to a completely different level with very complicated signatures and speed of playing, it is Arc en Ciel who has tried to be a copy of Kapaya but somehow he has ended up his own subtle style which is slightly better than that of Mogratana with crisp clear solos.

Spot on SLY I agree with you to certain degree for the most things you said but I'm trying to imply this ideology let's take an example of Wenge the original Alain Makaba left his prints for all the lead guitarists of Wenge to follow, expand and renew, Burkina Faso practiced Kin e Bouge disc which was played by Alain makaba, he studied it, interpreted it and renewed it to his own way and then from then on he created his own partitions in accordance to what he practiced, I can't say this word in English "Cachee", Japonais has left a massive print for all the guitarists (lead speaking) of Maison Mere so as flamme kapaya, japonais is one of the creators of the style that maison mere play in even till modern, kapaya himself even had to interpret his work and later renew it with his own aggressive which he took the extreme and it made popular but japonais is also very aggressive listen to Augustine, terrain eza mine, fair play and even miracle, Japonais did also popularize that aggressive style but anyway most lead guitarists of Maison Mere would have to study japonais and flamme's partitions and interpret them and renew it to their own style so Japonais is a pioneer of all lead-guitarists of Maison mere because he left a big Cachee of his style and it is being renewed year by year by the new guitarists.
