Reminiscent of when WMM performed at Palais des sports & across town BCBG at LSC on the same night. This time it's Koffi at Showbuzz with guest Werra and JB & Adolphe at a different venue

The integrity of this genre is so poor, now we've taken a back seat to the Nigerians and East Africans. Sad

Congolese Music / KIEKIE, PARTY POLITICS - FALLY GIFTS KOFFI
« on: December 21, 2017, 03:25 »

I willing to bet Papa Cherie was crossed off the christmas list this year after his recent declaration about Ferre :D :D I'm sure it's sincere, but it's amusing the chess moves all the big artists make to show who is on which side.

Speaking of things being shoved down our throats: I decided to give Tokoos a full chance from start-to-finish on my ride home from work... man.... I've been a long time Fally supporter: seen him live many times, bought his albums, etc. but I'm sure behind the scenes he would admit it's largely trash. He's become a pop star so standards dropped. Get a few featurings, make a fancy 4k clip, create a hashtag challenge, then call it a day.

Meanwhile standards remain high for Ferre Gola to produce quality rhumba, which in effect means he still delivers. If Ferre released the equivalent of Tokoos people would be like "WTF?" or "this guy is finished".

I think we as a cultural society need to be more honest with what's good/bad stop gassing people so we can get quality music again, but that's a discussion for another day.

I really hate sounding like a Fally hater lately, but certain things must be stated

lol wow, he's really been enjoying that taba, pondu, and kwanga. Did not recognize him at all at first. Rick Ross na bisso ;D

I guess it's all new material. He has a habit of just reverting to golden era QL animation on his modern works.

I went to my music playlist and literally half my list deleted - this is post DJOmega page deletion. Just a friendly warning to save your favorite clips and concerts. I guess we had it good for too long, smh.

Right after Bercy, Koffi bought himself a then new S-class Mercedes and SLK roadster & most young key QL members got Benzes, which caused a commotion around town and really made the old QL members jealous. Probably one of the things that helped lure Bouro back.

The team parading through Kin and Fally showing that the title was in his name:

^ lol, vieux Tabu Ley was probably thinking thses guys are going insane with the material excesses. It is known that he barely paid musicians adequately during his career.

I thought Pépé Kalle prefer being in Matonge since he always wanted to be a man of the people and close to the music scene. He had enough money to easily move to Ma campagne or Ngombe but he stayed there till his death

^ lol, my guy Robbie from Arsenal fan tv always keeping cool despite the teams ups and downs. He used to be a reggae artist too. Hilarious

What gets me about Cindy is what does Koffi see in her? She not particularly attractive looking and she's clearly one of those opportunistic crazy girls men in general should stay away from.

A nice slice of humble pie for the self-proclaimed "GOAT".

Not particularly, they prefer their artists and Afrobeat. Côté d'ivoire (and Mali) is where his West African fan base is, but it is arguable that Ferre has a bigger following there with how frequently he has concerts there.

Moderated by Naty Lokole and in attendence all the music journalists - at his disposal. The attendence of Werrason is confirmed; something I find to be one of the best news this year. The finally buried the hatchet.

Really nice. It's a remix of Après Tout, from "Pole Position" which Wazekwa composed along with the rest of the album.

yeah yeah bro,but like some know i was kinda blocked by them guys from doing it,so i waited but now i will do it
you know jb,werra, tata, masela, makaba, adolphe, kija, mbuta kiss like to keep the absolute right of talking about wenge

Archos we’re on an ANONYMOUS site. Just spill the beans already jesus christ. Everytime things get interesting you pull out the “wenge doesnt want me to talk about them” card. I do appreciate the knowledge that you do give us thought hope you dont take this the wrong way.

lol, don't kill the messenger. We gotta be careful what you say about Wenge alumni. Did you know that Werra's staff had the previous forums that existed before CongoVibes eliminated from the internet? Very frustrating as it fractured the established online Congolese music community. Hence why there's a special section for Werrason posts.

His people have relaxed in recent years, but we still have to be careful, as eyes are everywhere.

Pretty good from my early listen. Some solid rhumbas

I was surprised to find no génériques until the last two songs on the album. Then I found out the sound is absolutely atrocious. Crackling everywhere.  Not sure what happened being that JP Kys is the arranger.
