@Manzambi94 how have you not listened to Intervention Rapide? It's a great album if you look past the sound quality.

Congolese Music / Re: Top 5 academia’s song

While we're at it, why don't we rank each Academia album? Or would that be too easy since we'd have the same results?

Congolese Music / Re: MY VIAGRA REVIEW

Top review, vieux na biso. I've always loved Viagra since I was a kid, I used to play it everyday. There I was, thinking I was the only one who liked Zabalumbu lol.

I'm glad that Academia's receiving some love here on CV.

1. Zabalumbu
2. 100 Ans
3. Certitude
4. Ingratitude
5. SDF

It's almost like these guys weren't bandmates. I'm guessing that Kabose is proper jealous and mad that he can't take Ferre's musicians so he throws this 'shade'. What does he think of the third F, then?

That would be Mere Z by Pierrette Adams. This was done in 2012.

I believe this was his first foray into world music. The man was full of ambition, a true visionary.

Wenge BCBG - DRC’s most famous wedding band for friends and family. Musique et idéologie locale

No disrespect, but not even I'd want to hire BCBG for my wedding.

I feel like this was because the SNEP had a more mythical aura surrounding it compared to Belgium's sales classification unit. Hence the desire to go gold in France, since this was a sign to them that they made it in Europe.

You talked to Werrason himself? How old were you back then?

Congolese Music / Re: Bob Lorenzo is a real faux chanteur
« on: April 30, 2020, 14:22 »
Imagine a band of faux chanteurs lol. Bob Lorenzo, Abel Benz, Eder Uomo and of course, Cesar Loboko himself. His vocals on 0:49 and 2:27 are truly... something. Granted he actually tries, but if this song is any indication, he tries too hard to sing like a 1ere voix.

technically they recruit that much because tests bring fans, and also because they cant resist talent,i have never seen except strict guys like blaise bula or wazekwa for example say to a musician "you are good but we are already too much"
i was talking this morning with my big bro who is one of mbuta kiss' assistants,he told me that in december of 2001 bcbg had 193 musicians with the confirmed, the accepted at tests, those who were accepted and manage a couple of appearances, those who entered rotation, those who were tested and never ever sang or play for a second outside their test...
the argument jb and werra also have for doing that since they are by far the ones with bigger full squads is that at least if a musician joins, thats a potential gangster less in streets
do you guys know that in both maison mere and bcbg there are guys who have had 15 years but have not even made it to 3 rehearsals but have seen their work in albums done by others
193??  and yet jb is still content on having kibens, rio and jdl on the first team loooool. 15 years If I was them guys I'd have left after 2 years let alone 15

Like I said, they would've been 12'd out in another band.

Ooh so over-recruiting already started in that era before creation of the Operation Dragon-team. I once heard Mimiche (RIP) saying that when he came there were like 6 bass players.

Imagine getting into your favourite band, only to realise there are 80 other bassists. OK I'm exaggerating lol, but still. Like the other 5 bassists, you're not even second-in-line. You're just an understudy waiting your turn, hoping you will play onstage, but you never do. That must hurt, regardless of position.

Congolese Music / Re: BOZI BOZIANA TRIBUTE SONG TO PAPA WEMBA
« on: April 29, 2020, 19:34 »
To be honest after the truth came out I have lost respect for that guy (Wemba) I am not a saint but Wemba was too much wild even for Congolese standards. Sleeping with your own son's wife? For real? And about these ladies haven't they got some self respect? Sleeping with the father of your husband?

I'm not justifying Wemba's actions, but most of our musicians really did get around back in the day tbf, even if they were married. If he did all this, imagine what kind of people the others would've slept with?

That said, let's just enjoy the song. After all, these men were bandmates.
