I was thinking because back in the early 2000s we saw a trend start coming first with the crazy braids that I think QL introduced in late 2001 early 2002, which was followed by Maison Mere with their's for their double Zenith 2002 and also A la Que Leu Leu, where Werra had his Crazy hairstyles. Then after that trend died down in 2003, in 2005 the new trend became dread locs which I think was also introduced by QL, with nearly every band member in congo had that hairstyle for a couple of years which then eventually it just became normal hairstyles.
The reason I'm asking this is because I remember when Chikito Mutakatif was interviewed by Ado Yuhe, he revealed that he used to have braids and Jb forced him to cut it off and saying "That's QL look, we don't do that here". Junior revealed also that when he was getting tested Koffi forced someone who was having their test to cut off his locs, but then ended up not recruiting him hahahaha, and also that time Koffi cut off Somono's braids at a concert and forced him to have the bald look.

Congolese Music / TOP 10 QUARTIER LATIN SONGS
« on: March 15, 2021, 17:15 »
Just for a bit of fun  ;D
So the rules are you're not allowed to pick any songs credited to Koffi or Quartier Latin as a whole. it's only songs credited strictly to musicians, and no Generiques either to make it fair.  :D ;D

1. Detresse - Didace le Prof - Magie
2. Meslian - Rocky Blanchard - Magie
3. Sens Inverse - Do Akongo - Droit de veto
4. Miss Nicole - Sam Tshintu - Ultimatum
5. Amen - Babia Ndonga Chokoro - Magie
6. Dulcinee - Eric Tutsi - Force De Frappe
7. Papa Na Roissy - Passe Kosse - Ultimatum
8. Eternellemant - Fally Ipupa - Force De Frappe
9. Ali Debs - Modogo Abarambwa - Ultimatum
10. Calvaire - Bouro Mpela - Affaire d'etat

Honorable mention, these three songs didn't make the list but I had to give these three a shoutout anyways
1. Petit na london - Willy Bula - Magie
2. Julia - Beniko Popolipo - Magie
3. Moprete lendila - Gibson Butukondolo - Force de Frappe

His album with Talent Latent was quite good, and the three songs are some of my favourite especially Cas Grave. I really wish he would perform Cas Grave live, especially since Atele participated in the album and actually sounded good along with Eric Tutsi.

Congolese Music / LOL KOFFI WAS TAKING THE ABSOLUTE PISS HERE
« on: March 06, 2021, 18:59 »

To this day I don’t understand what he was trying to achieve by having Joss and the Mineurs singing Both Pharmacien and Insecticide.
Was he purposely trolling Fally and Ferre? Because he would never get new members singing former members songs, only Chamberton with Dulcinée. It surely must’ve pissed both Fally and Ferre off, If they didn’t leave then Koffi surely would’ve made Fally sing Insecticide and vice versa LOL

Still to this day I’ve yet to see any Bercy concert better than Koffi’s show, the sound was on point, the lighting was on point, and the choreography was very good. Werra, Jb, and Wemba all said that they would correct Koffi’s Bercy but I still don’t think they did.
The Instagram generation really rate this because they usually dance to the sebene from this concert, like the Generique or the Sebene part of Rond Point.

My dad had the pleasure to attend this concert, and he said the sound you hear on tape and cd was even better live. Also the way the crowd were really into it and screaming and singing along made the event more special.

With the Singers Depitcho, Mamale, Eric Tutsi, Fally, Jordan, Jipson, Lola, Mustapha, and JF Ifonge (who was barely on stage). Along with instrumentalists Felly Tyson, Binda Bass, Ridens, Deba, Clovis, Passé Kosse, Champion, and finally the two Atalakus CNN and Ocean.
Shout out to CNN and the late Ocean for their legendary performances, along with Champion and Deba O’Neil and the rest. Along with guests like Roga Roga, Passi, Meiway, Coumba Gawlo, and also the baby Didi Stone Nike who he brought onto the stage.

Even though Olympia was the better show, Bercy was a close second, and for me I give it a 8/10.
Koffi himself posted to celebrate the anniversary, it would’ve been nice if he re released a reedition with never before seen footage, and some backstage footage.

The rehearsal and planning took a year to do, with Koffi presenting some of the new musicians who would be seen at Bercy and was teasing some by asking if they will be at the show, with them laughing and saying they hope so.

For the past God knows how many years every concert that’s been posted it’s always handheld camera, even recorded from a phone. So these 3 concerts from the past few days have been posted with a good DVD quality, so is this the return of normal edited full concerts on YouTube? Seeing as DVDs aren’t really as popular anymore.

The Jb and Werra impersonations were absolutely spot on ;D ;D
