Congolese Music / Re: WAZEKWA NEW SONG COMING SOON
« on: July 05, 2021, 19:30 »

here is the released version of 13 minutes

The man needs to retire and focus on writing books…he should take this crap back and listen to it with his family. Why have Zaiko on this version but not Koffi smh.
Exactly Koffi should've been on this as well, 95% of this was just Jb and Werra animations.

It is sad that see Sam Tshintu and Suzuki have beef. They sounded so good with this song where the choirs of Eric Menthe, Modogo, Suzuki and Sam Tshintu was perfect. It is shameful that Sam and Suzuki can't stand eachother. What caused their beef?
Who told you they had beef? It seems you want and enjoy the thought of artists to beef and hate each other

I love this song, one of my favourites from Viagra. Eric Menthe and even faux chanteur Abel Benz had good vocals. Mboshi and Somono were on fire here same with Lebou Kabuya and Musika Sika

Loool Fally is sooooo beyond childish I don’t believe it, he needs to grow a pair and grow up. Our artists in general are weird and pathetic, they’re not doing themselves any favours this is why we’ve fallen so down in the pecking order.

Loool sometimes I think I’m the only person here who likes the MAMD album, it’s not a masterpiece but it’s solid with some nice Rumbas and a couple of nice Generique over the two parts.
Ehh what are you guys on about? No one on the forum said Héritiers album was bad, go back to the old threads and check for yourself a lot of people praised the album

The only thing people criticised was the lack of promotion and the too many rhumbas because he said he would have some Sebene songs on there.

Is being overweight an unwritten requirement to join or be a member of this band? I like the sebene a lot after the weak ones in SS. I pray the cris make it to the album(whenever and if it is ever released)
LOOOL bro I ask myself the same question every time I see this band on stage… my guys EMO and JV will agree with your statement

I don’t really listen to Wazekwa I sometimes find his style of music especially Generiques and Sebene too complicated lmao, but this one right here is a good one.

Z-Ndule did it well to upload the VHS in good quality, which was already uploaded by Mudjona Dobbs 3 years ago.

It sad that Koffi didn't want to take the risk to perform at Stade des Martyrs after Bercy. Concert-promoters in Kinshasa contacted Koffi, for a concert Stade des Martyrs and others for l'Esplanade de Palais du Peuple. But the fiasco of Stade des Martyrs in 1999, kept haunting him in his head, Which made him just perform at Grand Hotel de Kinshasa and Cinemax.
Do you think if Academia didn’t form and the entire group returned with Koffi in 1999 that he would’ve filled stade de martyrs and Palais du Peuple?
It’s actually amazing how Academia played in front of a big crowd in Palais du peuple

Yeah I saw that, these guys are funny with their dumb nicknames  ;D ;D

Congolese Music / Re: WOW SOMONO IS IN KINSHASA
« on: June 26, 2021, 23:13 »
Seeing all interviews of Academia-members (except Pathy Bass who only talked about Quartier Latin). I think that they all agreed to return to Kinshasa for concerts and recruit musicians to be a respected band. Looking back to it, I found it first wrong, but now I don't think that it was bad. Yeah to share money would be more difficult, but they succeeded in creating a myth with their band like Wenge Aile Paris in 1992 & 1993, due to their triomphal arrival in Kinshasa and succesful concerts at Cinémax, l'Esplanade de Palais du Peuple, Intecontinental, Abidjan, Brazzaville and Pointe Noire. Something that Nouvelle Génération of Luciana, Awilo and Fafa de Molokai weren't able to do, due to most not having papers and not wanting to take risks, only profiting of their succes in Europe and when coming back in 2000 already being to late. Being the disgrace of bana poto, by being the first based band of Europe having huge mpiaka at Cinemax and Palais du Peuple (Salle de Congres) If Academia stayed longer together they could have reached another the dimension.

I watched Faustin Djata's second interview and he said that when Academia toured in Europe with Tonton Lay and co. They were always arguing in rehearshals, adding that there wasn't any rehearshal that ended without an arugment between Somono and Sam Tshintu.
Of course they all agreed and they sort of had to return to Kin because it was a year since no one in Kin saw them. That's the only part I agreed with them, instead of following their labels wishes and started touring in Europe straight away with Secteur A forgetting that most of their fan base was in Kin.
About recruiting the musicians I'm 50/50, it made sense but at the samne time it made Academia implode quickly with them fighting about who's the boss, because one of the reasons Bouro left was due to that and with Eric Menthe already there as his replacement, Lebou and Pathy left with them being replaced by Pitchou Concorde who was already waiting and Rocky Blanchard. Somono ended up being replaced by that atalaku who participated in 4 Coins Kandala, and Modogo was literally about to be replaced by Guy Bazunga (who is Sam's cousin) and he's also a writer, Mboshi was almost about to get replaced too.
They should've waited another year or two and then recruit more musicians, but overall it was a good look for them to bring those musicians to Europe.
Man I really want someone to interview either Somono, Pathy Bass or Mboshi about the full story of Academia, we only get little bits and bobs.
