Honestly Lofombo has a drive, and you cant blame him for the work he does.
So far I dont know of any other bassist right now who is better than Lofombo. What I learnt on the Congolese music scene is that whenever you play good, okolala nzala te...reputation and hard work pays off...its rare to hear Lofombo insulting others...the guy is mature enough to do his thing and being appreciated. I find that losing his wife made Lofombo even more determined to play more and be better at his job. Batika yo dit... :D

One the best of Lofombo as Djuna describes it at the beginning Mbonda na bass

Guys I thought you all knew this...he did it na mwana muke  a few times in Georgia...and run away after he got caught...He will never come back to the USA. I have family in Atlanta and they all know about this...Botika koloba its fake because its sadly real.
I thought everyone knew already, and the details are so gross so its not worth writing about it...bakoya kokanga yo awa, mpo bosoto wana eleki.
I wish we could stop taking the side of people like him.

Congolese Music / Re: WHO IS THIS STINO MUBI GUY?
« on: December 24, 2020, 01:08 »
EEEhh mfwidi.... ;D ;D ;D
This was a legend in his short time, so whenever Papa Wemba was making waves in the World Music scene, thanks to Peter Gabriel and RealWorld Records(not forgetting the compositions of Lokua Kanza for the Emotion album), Reddy Amissi and Stino were the side kicks, the number 2 and 3 in Viva la Musica. They both produced excellent albums, Romeo & Juliette by Stino is still one of the best modern Rumbas, and wedding  song.

Look at the video, You will see Reddy Amissi with Stino Mubi (en mode Michael Jackson) at Peter Gabriel's album,

till today I honestly think that Wemba blew his chance after he messed things with Peter Gabriel, who thanks to him Youssou N'dour is who he is today.

Congolese Music / Re: FALLY IPUPA - MESSAGE (OFFICIAL CLIP)
« on: October 22, 2020, 22:33 »
Which one is better this song about Jealousy from Gaz Mawete or Fallys?

I will listen to Gaz Mawete then listen to Franco;s original....

The lyrics are bad because someone like Fally should remember that he represents Congo; ELoko Oyo was very good because the beat and lyrics were repeated, the message in the song was kept intact...not this.... I dont mind if you like the song, go ahead...I will always support all Congolese artists by downloading their songs on Itunes, but it doesnt mean that I will like them. Always support our music by not only watching Youtube.  All the fans of song, I dont blame you but it is not for me.  Peace! ;D

I am sorry but I had listen to the original again, memories, the message in it was too powerful.
At least if you wanna imitate Franco do it like Karmapa in Caligula or Mama Yemo, that according to me is a real hommage!
This song of Fally is not my cup of tea, sorry.

Congolese Music / Re: NETFLIX MAKES DOC. ABOUT MAÎTRE GIMS
« on: September 20, 2020, 14:12 »
I agree with Manzambi, this is a first for a Congolese musician...till today he never got the French nationality. Still travels on a Congolese passport. These guys need our support. If Koffi , Ferre or Fally had the same accomplishment they would have gone crazy about it. Nevertheless they all need our support to the max.

We need to reinvent our music and this is one way of doing it, This song will open the ears/eyes of many to Congolese music.

Batika bapolemiques....

Lot of respect for him, He always put Congo on the map.

The only Congolese artist to appear on Barack Obama's favourite songs/playlist!

Honestly this is art? We are the World, Umqobothi, La Zairoise in one song!! Not forgetting Mbilia Bel, Gatho Byvens and JB Mpiana.....Abomi ngai matoi!!!

45
Thanks for that info...Does this actually bring back the same 'polemique' (if you call it) that it is actually better to record in Europe than in Kin. Correct me if I am wrong but I feel like albums recorded in Kin lack depth...All those albums mentioned have a rounded sound, and  I feel like that is real Congolese Rumba music. (Except Fally's album in my humble opinion)
You simply can compare the albums of Koffi or Werra that were recorded in Kin vs in Europe.
The above mentioned albums are wonderful and I just wish today we had albums of the same caliber...I guess we have to wait and wait....
