Congolese Music / Emeneya - Mela Primus (The Full Version)
« on: December 05, 2019, 15:29 »
One of my favourite Emeneya songs to cut shapes to! This song should've been performed live! Other than that, I can hear Michael Jackson or maybe Prince on this track as a guest featuring! Also, imagine if this was done in an American studio!

This is the full version from the vinyl! Not from the CD!

Oh no!!! It was literally a month ago where I was getting into the Epaka Masasi/Code 007 album! (One of may favourite songs being Dimbenzi with RAMAZANI on solo or however you spell it) I didn't really listen to him and Choc Stars as much, however nobody deserves death! May he rest in peace!

This can fuck right off. WTF IS THIS?! I mean... I knew that this was going to be a disappointment. HOWEVER, I never knew that it was going to be THIS BAD! Being a massive Koffi fan... I don't even know what to say anymore. This is low, even for Koffi. Carine thought that her DJ Arafat tribute was her make or break but she's an Oxford Dictionary definition of a faux chanteuse. No thanks but I'll pass.

Congolese Music / Re: Where's Lozizi ya Mpaka nowadays ?
« on: December 03, 2019, 11:54 »
Yeah! Where is he?! His Prophétie album was fantastic! I've been listening to it for the entire weekend whilst I was in France! I loved every moment of it! My top songs are Nzete N'Eyala, Mabele and Bokila Y'Elima. There are so many more but I had to pick. The first time that I've heard of Lozizi, was when his songs "Mabanga" and "Nzete N'Eyala" appeared in the "La naissance de Quartier Latin Academia" video. I wanted to go back to African man! I didn't know that he animated on She Chanta". He used the same animation in many of the songs on the album. This album is so underrated. Was it released in 1999? Where is he at?!

Oh Brigade! :( big condolences to him!

fally knows how to tease fans well, credit to him, unlike a certain artist(not his rival) who likes to keep everything mysterious  and hope for wonder success

Soo true

yeah bro his music might not always be super exceptional but he seems to know how to make buzz with his snippets ,imagine amid the heritier thing his little impro when chilling in states with macdeddy and co singing "okotinda plan oui to te kata ata mutu" about sending nudes was repost and it just cant get out of my head while i dont really like that type of lyrics :D :D :D :D

I can relate to that lol “tinda photo ko, kata mutu, nako lakisa moto te”  ;D

That song "Photo" had a sick folklore beat! But... nah. It's just an filler track with the whole "Skrr Skrr" vibes and the nonsensical lyrics and mumbling at the end of the song.

Bangeeeer

I first heard Academia's music when the VHS came out. With 100 Ans, Otan, Sanction, Ingratitude, Hi-Télé, Exil D'amour, Faux Patron and the playback concert of Speed Life at Zénith!

But when it got round to listening to "Da Silva" I couldn't allow myself to not repeat the song!

Excellent album, if I was their manager than I would have planned a Concert-Sanction show at Olympia, Zenith or Palais des Sports. It would be been excellent if they recorded 2 more albums with the same squad. Lebou Kabuya and Djudjuchet were really on the point.

I don’t like it and find it unfair  when people compare the Sancrion to Attentat, which is a solo-album of Koffi Olomide himself and not a group-album like Magie, Force de Frappe or Ultimatum. I  prefer Sanction over Attentat, but if you look on the long term you will see that songs like Sans Anesthesie, Non Assistance and Malanda Ngombe are seen as classics while most people can barely remember 100 Ans, Otan or Ingratitude except true music-lovers and Academia-fanatics.

To a certain degree I agree! Towards 2005 Academia was dying and the sound quality for each album after "Viagra" was worsening. If Academia didn't die out then they would've been as big as they were in the Sanction era and a majority of their songs would've been remembered. If Bouro, Lebou and Pathy (After the release of Viagra) didn't leave, imagine the impact that Academia would've had around the time Koffi released Effrakata! Along with old QL members Suzuki, Popolipo, Mustapha Gianfranco, Tonton Evoloko Lay and Clovis Ngouma! They would've been a massive force in the Congolese diaspora!

It is nice for once to see a BCBG person go to see Werrason. It is usually all Maison Mere members running to JB.

Don't forget Amelia Lias and Burkina Faso Mboka Liya! They left BCBG for MM right before JB dropped T.H in 2000!

Oh sh*t the girl is Naomie Mbando? That’s crazy, she’s about to get divorced then

 ;D

I'm actually too dead! The fact that you brought this song in is to damn funny! I was thinking more of "Suite Lettre 1" by Franco & Tabu Ley! "Linga mobali na yo n'a motema moko"
