The concert was for the 25th and independence day is the 30th so I don't see the problem.

The problem is that fally planned something very big so it takes a lot of time to prepare,and authorities want something big aswell
surely that, especially as they initially did not even want to let fally perform at all,stade des martyrs and grand hotel nowadays are very very very difficult to get for musicians

Pullman - the parent company has been making big efforts to make the hotel more prestigious being that it's no longer the only 5 Star hotel in town.
Unfortunately, they feel concerts by Congolese artists don't add to prestige unless it's a special concert. A big issue was that the late night poolside concerts were too disruptive to western guests. The old DG of GHK, Bob Fal Mundani (RIP) was a big music fanatic, which is why so many concerts were held last decade.
Incidentally, most of the recent concerts there were by foreign artists - for example Stromae.

I agree, however, the Pullman excutives in Paris have no understanding of Congolese culture and famous figures, they just seek to have GHK held to the same high standards as their other hotels in every major city around the world. The new DG is not African if I'm not mistaken.

That's bad business on their part, you can't do business in a foreign country without knowing the customs of that country.
