Idont know why but when sam did his interview with ado i was constantly having two people in my head,i was saying if only lebou was still alive to give an interview aswell and i would love tchetche in france to be interviewed by ado
haha franck is really like a snake he really tried everything to shift the interview in the way he wanted for his own drama interest while being sooooo calm,tchetche did not want to talk about fally since they dont get along anymore to avoid problems but he dragged the parts talking about fally long and if tchetche talked bad in all honesty he'd get weeks of insults and analysis

That part where he talks about Coco Tchomba scared me. It seems it was not easy to come in as a new drummer in Quartier Latin, because almost everybody said that they suffered with that.

kakol for example all the drummers he had as reserve(cambodge,his nephew nicolas,drummer ya mayi,nkumu who is now with but na filet koba and co) all were saying that they were feeling like something was burning their butt when sitting there until some of them also went spiritual to protect themselves,seguin aswell when he almost lost his spot in mid 2000's after his repeated fights,there was a concert were he was suspended they had to call him so that he comes remove his stuff otherwise the two other drummers were not able to play correctly

he did not have the choice lol the guys were stopping two three times in a songs messing the whole concert then they played
and after that he stopped doing it and now they play with him without any problem,and they pray together

The reason why Fally is the most successful to come out of QL is because after his generation QL didn’t exist anymore. The guys of his generation briefly had success were Soleil who for the first year of his solo career was doing good and pulling crowds at his concerts it’s just his album was poorly promoted and flopped and it was done for him.
The rest settled in Europe and became session artists. The generation of Sam who came before Fally couldn’t go solo at the time because it was non existant, it’s only in 2006 that 5th generation really started. Willy Bula, Suzuki, Babia, were all huge stars and Willy used to have a work shop where so many future stars like Bouro, Fally, Mamale, Chikito, Jordan Kusa and others used to go and sing with him now imagine if it were today he would’ve formed a group with those guys.
Lol you need to stop referencing Celeo every time to make a point Celeo is finished his first album was good then he went down, Brigade isn’t successful either, Deplick isn’t doing anything special so he doesn’t belong on that list, Bill has been down since 2013.
If you think about it the successful ones to come out of the generation of Ferre in maison mère apart from Ferre is Heritier, Lacoste, Bill, to an extent Celeo and Kabose, the rest didn’t make it, and only Ferre and Heritier are still doing well out of that generation.
Fabregas and Robinio are still doing well but they’re not in the golden generation of maison mère.
It’s Koffi himself that stopped the system of making stars because he was traumatised of the way Fally and the danger de mort team left, now if he kept the same system he’d have definitely created more stars to come out of QL, guys like Mon Ami Guelord, Rolly Mayemba who everyone was calling the new Fally, Arabe Yousouff and others had everything to be stars but the Cindy system killed them.
Today he has potential in his group with JR 33 who people were comparing to Fally a few years ago even going as far as labelling him Fally’s younger brother, Eric 4sim and more they could end up being stars but that’s only if Koffi brings the old system back, because a lot of former QL members are complaining about the current system.
Out of the 4 big groups Quartier Latin has the most off shoots groups with Academia (they had crazy success in Europe and Africa and even were nominated best group), Quartier Latin Integral, Les chics men, Joss Diena Gessac Hono Gabbana and Asso’s group which didn’t last long at all, all those albums that were released were excellent, if you take the time to listen to ex QL members solo albums you’ll realise they’re actually good it’s just the promotion.

It was Koffi's choice. When he get dissapointed by someone, he always want to get rid to the people close the the person, because of not wanting to remind the person in question.
He did that to songwriter who was introduced by Kaps Kapangala, the moment Kaps decided to stay in Europe. Both Binda Bass (Bouro's best friend) and Mboshi started to get 12 in Kinshasa when Academia got created.
The moment Kerozene decided to leave behind. Koffi became mad but was acting like everything was ok. Cambodge already knew that everything was messed up and wanting to stay in Europe but it was Brigade who convinced to come back to Kinshasa. In the Effrakata-days they were often with 3 (Cambodge, Kerozene and Brigade), because they had also to rehearse with the female dancers who were rehearsing separately.
After the African Tour (Togo, Benin, Nigeria & Brazzaville) that followed after the long Europe-tour, Quartier Latin finally arrived in Kinshasa. However, they didn't spent 2 weeks there because they went immedialty to the US for a tour. Guess what happened. Cambodge got left behind in Kinshasa!!
Cambodge made his case worser by making the mistake to drive with his car through Bibicia's street some months later. This was reported to Koffi, Koffi then thinking that he had an affair with Bibicia which wasn't even the case. Both Bibicia and Cambodge doing their best to convince Koffi that they hadn't an affair. But Koffi not believing them and not bringing them to the Monde Arabe-trip. Cambogde lost his head the moment he didn't receive a message on his phone the day on the trip and went to the airport. He started to scream and asking what he did wrong but Koffi ignoring him like he didn't knew him and going towards the plane along with the rest of Quartier Latin. People working at the airport trying to calm him down (including Brigade's father who was working there). Years long, Cambodge would remind Brigade for the way he messed his life up by convincing him to return to Kinshasa.
On Brigade's side. Koffi was still mad for the way Kerozene stayed and he wanted to take revenge by leaving Brigade behind for the next tour. In meantime he would pretend that he loved him alot and often praise him, giving him gifts and nicknames like "patron ya ba animateurs". A few days before the trip, Koffi finally decided to bring Apocalyps in place of Brigade. CNN who already knew that Koffi would leave him behind and went to Europe on his own with help from one of his girlfriend living Paris. Koffi had first some doubts and even thinking to change his mind to bring Brigade. Because I was wondering if Apocalyps wouldn't run away since that he came from Manda Chante's band and not having a big role in Quartier Latin, but Fally reassuring him that he would return (Fally once refered to this in one of his interviews with Papy Mboma during the Power-days when being asked about his influence as chef d'orchestre in QL). It took months for Brigade to get over it, being also broke at that time and having at some point to return to his parents house.

Who’s Cambodge to beat Koffi. He would never try it and Koffi would surely destroy his life and fire him. If he did that they would surely say it during Ado Yuhe’s show or one of those insta-lives during covid. Koffi himself used to beat his singers and musicians (Jipson, Lola Muana, Soleil, Montana, CNN,..). QL-musicians often make noise on tv, but when they see Koffi in front they are often quiet and talk with a lot respect to him. It’s only when he turn his back and they talk bad.

Was Apocalypse recruited to replace Kerozene or punish Brigade? Because they already had Acide Wanzambi whose voice was similar to Bebe Kero. I'm surprised CNN tried to rejoin QL after the way he was fired back in 2001, even QL criticized Koffi for that decision.
How come Jordan Kusa was able to return to QL even though he refused to attack JB Mpiana? What changed Koffi's mind It's too bad, because he never really liked him to begin with anyway. I'm surprised he took him back only to fire him before Danger de Mort lol

Koffi already gave him a 4 months suspension not long after Stade des Martyrs, because of refusing to follow his orders (insulting JB Mpiana) and also that story about his girlfriend. After the end of his suspension, which was a few weeks before the trip Quartier Latin started to rehearse Affaire d’Etat in Binza. But when the trip came they all left the house where they were preparing the album without telling Jordan. The moment Jordan woke up didn’t see anybody in house and a few hours later Fally called him to say that they already crossed the Congo-river to get in Europe through Brazzaville and that he just had to stay strong. After Affaire d’Etat Jordan slowly started to get his place back in the band, but Koffi wasn’t giving him the same value anymore like he used to give before.

When rehearsing for the event, nobody dared to sing with Emeneya. The singers were afraid that Koffi would be mad at them. Jordan Kusa was the only one who sang with him. Afterwards, Koffi was really mad, he said to Jordan “I didn’t know that I had a spy in my band”. Jordan had some difficulties with remembering old Koffi songs and it made Koffi mad to see him sing multiple Emeneya’s songs. During the event at Grand Hotel, Koffi refused have him on stage the whole concert long and the moment Emeneya came in he came on stage by force. The same stuff happened at following concert they did and from then he decided to leave and didn’t show up anymore at concerts and rehearsals. He started to prepare his album which he titled first “7 années de vache maigre” but later renamed into “danger de mort” just to piss Koffi up.

Although living at the house of Koffi parents, he wasn’t really dependent on Koffi, having a lot support from his friends, donors and fans living in Europe. Next to it, he was really important in the polemic-section to attack JB Mpiana, Nyoka Longo and Papa Wemba. Koffi’s biggest fear was that he and Depitcho would leave Quartier Latin for Wenge BCBG. So he was letting both guys doing their thing in Quartier Latin like it was their band and the newly recruited musicians just doing anything what they were saying in order to get a place in the band. However, behind he scenes Koffi had a hidden agenda against JF Ifonge and Depitcho but he was just waiting for the right time. Both guys already left before he wanted to do 12 on them.Koffi was in reality not liking the way Depitcho was acting like Quartier Latin was he band and guys like Mamale and Champion often complained about it to Koffi. But Koffi not having any choice to accept it, because of Quartier Latin being a little bit weak because of Academia.
The moment JF Ifonge wanted to beat Koffi was after his departure from Quartier Latin. Koffi started to talk bad about him to people, he also said that JF Ifonge didn’t do anything in Quartier Latin and added that his mother was a slave (JF’s mom is from the West-Indies). It made JF really mad, so he started searching for Koffi. Koffi had to run for his life, the moment they met each other at the restaurant of Cesar Loboko’s sister.

It made JF really mad, so he started searching for Koffi. Koffi had to run for his life, the moment they met each other at the restaurant of Cesar Loboko’s sister.
What did Koffi mean by Jordan being a "spy"? Emeneya wasn't really competitive enough to poach musicians from rival bands, so I don't see how that criticism applied to Jordan.
I'm even surprised Jordan would even sing with Kester on stage if he knew his place in the band wasn't like before.
So when the musicians rehearse prior to a Europe tour, each musician brings their own songs? How does Koffi decide who gets a song on group albums and which musicians make the trip? I feel bad for the atalakus and guitarist that never got a chance to make the albums, a lot of their work gets interpreted by Felly Tyson and singers.

Koffi already gave him a 4 months suspension not long after Stade des Martyrs, because of refusing to follow his orders (insulting JB Mpiana) and also that story about his girlfriend. After the end of his suspension, which was a few weeks before the trip Quartier Latin started to rehearse Affaire d’Etat in Binza. But when the trip came they all left the house where they were preparing the album without telling Jordan. The moment Jordan woke up didn’t see anybody in house and a few hours later Fally called him to say that they already crossed the Congo-river to get in Europe through Brazzaville and that he just had to stay strong. Of course each musicians come with a song, otherwise their wouldn’t be a group album. G5 often come with excuses to not release group-albums, by saying to journalists that their musicians never come with songs into the band.
The musicians come with songs that they prepared at home with songwriters, or just stole from streetbands or bands where they used to be part from. In the era of A La Que Leu Leu, Affaire d’Etat and co. it happened often that singers were sued by musicians of streetbands for stealing their songs. But those lawsuits went nowhere because of bandleaders corrupting the justice or calming those guys down by giving them some money. Koffi once said that his musicians don’t have any right to complain about their past, because of often saving them for the way they were stealing songs.
It just simple, Koffi just picks the best songs, he also looks to the influence you have in the band and if you have a problem you can be punished by not being allowed to put a song. About the trips, if you slept with a dancer you may be left behind. If you showed bad behaviour during the time in Kinshasa (skipping rehearsals or coming often late) you also may be left behind. If you respect everything, you dont have to worry.

After that he used to be part of sapeur Modogo GianFranco Ferre’s band Place Vendome and also spent some time in the band Grand Libanko “New Look” of Gina Efonge. JF Ifonge and his friend Cesar Loboko had some succes in Paris and Brussels for the looks they had and way they were dancing in nightclubs. They were often invited by artist like Papa Wemba, Bozi Boziana and Koffi Olomidé to dance on stage and some times to sing. But it was mostly the dance-skills that was attracting them.

The succes that bands like, Promuzika, FGBM (it had members like Richard Mukena of Wenge BCBG, Papy Sebene, Christian Lema of Nouvelle Ecriture, Didier Anaconda of Wenge Tonya Tonya, etc.), Black Story of Smalto Dizoizo, etc. had in Brussels, gave JF Ifonge the desire live in Brussels and create his band there. JF Ifonge moved to Brussels and its there where he created his own band Chic La Puissanca having his friend Tshotsho Bokito who used to work at famous nightclub La Reference of Maman Shaguy Sharufa as president. He help from Caien Madoka he recorded his album Démolition which was produced by Jimmy Houetinou (the manager of Awilo Longomba and Aurlus Mabele). The generique of his album had some succes in African countries due to the ndombolo-virus (JF Ifonge himself only discovered it the moment he started to tour around Africa with Quartier LAtin). JF Ifonge’s name started grow more and more and not long after it he was approached by Koffi to join Quartier Latin. After the recordings of Droit de Veto, he officially joined Quartier Latin in Europe and went with them to Africa.

Who was chief of repetition in Quartier Latin? For some reason, I believe it was Beniko because he was the most experienced musician in the group and trained every guitarist from 1992 to 1999, but I could be wrong. Maybe Champion because he was Koffi's "number two" but isn't chief orchestra a higher position than repetition?

I don't know. Koffi used to rotate that role often.
Beniko joined Quartier Latin 1993 after Noblesse Oblige. In 1992 he was still a session-artist after leaving Zaiko Familia Dei. He became chef d'orchestre somewhere in 1994 until 1997 when he left. late Ondoma replaced him but after two weeks Sam Tshintu became it with Ondo as his assistent.
Champion had the nickname Number Two, because he became the new chef d'orchestre in the period that they were preparing Bercy. He replaced Do Akongo.
chef de repetition doesn't have alot value when its a band of a solo-artist, because the chef d'orchestre himself is already doing that role. It's different when its a group with multiple leaders. back in the days chef d'orchestre was in reality the role as directeur artistique (artistic director) and that what we see as chef d'orchestre nowadays was chef de repetition. For example in late 80s, Alain Makaba was chef d'orchestre of Wenge Musica. Roga Roga used to be chef d'orchestre of Extra Musica until Quetin Moyascko's departure.
But for whatever reasons it changed in late 90s, bandleaders making from their n2 the chef d'orchestre of the band and many adding the position (directeur artistique) in the band. Many bands adopted it in 2000s, guess that the influence of Alain Mpela as chef d'orchestre inspired many
