Next to it, he was really important in the polemic-section to attack JB Mpiana, Nyoka Longo and Papa Wemba. Koffi’s biggest fear was that he and Depitcho would leave Quartier Latin for Wenge BCBG. So he was letting both guys doing their thing in Quartier Latin like it was their band and the newly recruited musicians just doing anything what they were saying in order to get a place in the band. However, behind he scenes Koffi had a hidden agenda against JF Ifonge and Depitcho but he was just waiting for the right time.  Both guys already left before he wanted to do 12 on them.Koffi was in reality not liking the way Depitcho was acting like Quartier Latin was he band and guys like Mamale and Champion often complained about it to Koffi. But Koffi not having any choice to accept it, because of Quartier Latin being a little bit weak because of Academia.

But those lawsuits went nowhere because of bandleaders corrupting the justice or calming those guys down by giving them some money. Koffi once said that his musicians don’t have any right to complain about their past, because of often saving them for the way they were stealing songs.

It just simple, Koffi just picks the best songs, he also looks to the influence you have in the band and if you have a problem you can be punished by not being allowed to put a song. About the trips, if you slept with a dancer you may be left behind. If you showed bad behaviour during the time in Kinshasa (skipping rehearsals or coming often late) you also may be left behind. JF Ifonge and his friend Cesar Loboko had some succes in Paris and Brussels for the looks they had and way they were dancing in nightclubs. They were often invited by artist like Papa Wemba, Bozi Boziana and Koffi Olomidé to dance on stage and some times to sing. But it was mostly the dance-skills that was attracting them.

Who was chief of repetition in Quartier Latin? For some reason, I believe it was Beniko because he was the most experienced musician in the group and trained every guitarist from 1992 to 1999, but I could be wrong. Maybe Champion because he was Koffi's "number two" but isn't chief orchestra a higher position than repetition?

Champion had the nickname Number Two, because he became the new chef d'orchestre in the period that they were preparing Bercy. He replaced Do Akongo.

chef de repetition doesn't have alot value when its a band of a solo-artist, because the chef d'orchestre himself is already doing that role. It's different when its a group with multiple leaders. back in the days chef d'orchestre was in reality the role as directeur artistique (artistic director) and that what we see as chef d'orchestre nowadays was chef de repetition. For example in late 80s, Alain Makaba was chef d'orchestre of Wenge Musica. Roga Roga used to be chef d'orchestre of Extra Musica until Quetin Moyascko's departure.
