he is still with joss diena but also works with other artists,like i said in a previous post,joss has his solo career,hono his and gesac aswell but they team up in important concerts

its a good idea but would hono accepts abandoning his freedom because in his current career with joss sometimes he tours with various artists for months then comes back to ,kinshasa with some proper money(since he is registered here as a session artist he is paid on europe standards by those session guys,lastly he even came for a jazz festival

Thats the reason fatboy has killed his band, pride. It is not stealing as every service provider like kapanga has the right to find greaner pasture.

indeed the list of guys he refused to avoid problems is huge,shella mputu,lisha,gesac,mukusa ya mbwa,jitroi(then gianfranco),brigade......
some even spent almost a year at home not going anymore to concerts of their previous groups but since he does not know he thinks they come straight from them and runs away from polemic

I that this is a good thing? am confused when the other guy gets musicians from other group we look down upon that when this guy doesn't get the said musicians we again down upon him.
kindly elaborate on this

JB does not need any Hono Kapanga. Yes, Hono is good but to me he's just as good as Ficarre, maybe slightly better so there will not be much improvement.
JB already has capable guitarists to take over from Patou but it seems he's content with the kind of music he produces so even if Flamme Kapaya went to BCBG the music will still sound the same way it's always sounded at BCBG.
I personally like JB's policy of not recruiting band members from other bands. As I have previously said, those who really know about Maisha should know just how bad things turned forcing the govt to intervene in order bring sanity and peace amongst musicians but as archos has said, some of the musicians JB refuses to take on actually left other bands and we're just home before going to knock at JB's door so I think JB misses opportunities especially on singing and atalukus because on guitars, if JB told Ficarre and Seguin to step up their game, BCBG's music would change.

Sly my friend, for a moment, I thought you could agree with me on this one. JB needs another experienced guitarist to help ya ficarre as an exit strategy for ficarre since I doubt he will last for long now. I hate to compare but I think hono kapanga is better than the ficarre of today. Lets not support jb for abiding to the maisha regulation because he has lost the opportunity of getting talented artists who have offered services at their own will. Gesac was not accepted? Jb is dumb....that guy is good.

just been informed that a serie of tests will be organized next week to replace patou solo
hopefully they are looking for a number 1 material not a guy to play the first two songs before ficarré and saint paolo start playing

Mudala,i know what you mean about Ficarre and I agree with you but remember Ficarre is the longest serving member of BCBG apart from JB himself and he is his tribesman, Ficarre has seen all of them come and go ,yes, he's seen Mboka Liya, Moleso and Patou Solo go, even in the original Wenge, the likes of Japonais were brought in and made to play generiques but Ficarre was still there so bringing someone to help get rid of Ficarre as you say won't work.
Though a bit old skool like Ficarre, I truly appreciate Hono Kapanga ,he's got a slight edge over Ficarre but i think there wouldn't be any difference to BCBG's music for as long as JB doesn't want to change his style of doing sebene and that includes drums and guitars which are really critical in sebene bit old skool on the style of playing

Now this is the best news I have heard this year!!!!!! Hope with this soloist comes the actual change we want not just change of personnel, we want the music to change too. Am sure EMO can't wait for this change,we all can't wait.

Mboka Liya is happy with what he's doing in London. Am quite impressed with his recording skills, I finally got the album he recorded for my friend Renato, the sound quality of the music is good, the vocals could be better though. At the moment he's recording other smaller artists in London so unless JB pays him a good amount to leave London it's a non starter, JB has done well to arrange auditions so we look forward to Patou's successor.

Unfortunately that bozi soloist disappeared in angola like one or two years ago, in hope to look for a nice life( like we have said in some former posts,angola has become a b plan for those who cant go to europe)

Patou Solo is really an excellent soloist and at concerts you can just about hear clearly that he can do better than what he was being forced to do when they record in studio that's why i feel the change has to come from JB himself realising that he needs to be more aggressive on sebene.

I see your point JB will be looking for "Yes-men" but good soloist like the ones we've brought above will once in a while sneak in some lovely riffs to whoa the crowds during live concerts...

...Funny you would say that because I have always maintained that JB copied the whole concept in Quel est ton probleme; with QETP coming out as a slower version.

I think the atalaku( who are they?) mentions staff London at around 0800..when was this album released..thoroughly enjoyed the generique and yes I like the soloist especially from 0633..the lick aaii

I just know how to get there. Its along a curved little road that ends up at the open bus stop. Very tiny stores along that same road you find this dvd store having all kinds of genres but I always buy rumba dvds. I have been buying from them each time I am in nairobi. I have no business card from them. But if you are at the same bus stop, look around those same stores and ask for any store selling dvds.
