I rarely listen to EL Paris but I came across this not too long ago and I just can't stop playing this. Manda Chante grand chanteur. This is one of those songs I felt the Sebene wasn't really necessary and I'm a Sebene lover. Can we get music like this again? Did they ever record clips for Le Monde a l'envers? -

Manda Chante remixed this song as a rumba-song in his first album Bouclage. But it doesn't have the same feeling, because of being recorded in Kinshasa and each singer doing vocals.
Back than it was the inverse. For the 2nd and 3th generation it was all about sebene and them just doing 1 rumba or 2 rumba's a tribute for elders and making a little difference in albums. Only Koffi Olomidé was different, him doing 5 or 4 rumba's in his album because of having different roots than Clan Wenge and Clan Zaiko.
You can feel that the sebene is made in the style of Viva la Musica if you remove the cri's of Depitcho and replace with those popular animations Viva were doing back in the years 1990-1996.
I don't remember if there was an offical VHS of the clips. But I remember having seen once Depitcho's song Willy Musheni on tv back in the days. -
This song is on my playlist, and when Adricha Tipo Tipo's snare hits around the 2-minute mark, it really takes on a new dimension. A nice song to play while you're driving late at night.
