WAZEKWA STRONGLY CRITICIZES COMBATTANTS

wazekwa talks about his playback in france,which he could not do, and explains that at hotel some combattants came supposedly to talk to him but the plan was that if he comes downstairs outside hotel they kidnapp him and beat him and post photos of him naked and his bodyguard refused and proposed them to have a phone conversation with him instead,and one combattant called and he explained it was not a concert with instruments it was a party of his fanclub where he'd come to take selfies and do a little playback for them,and that combattant said,"oh so it was just that" and said he would explain to other guys so that they" allow " him and the guys who heard him discuss calmly with wazekwa started calling that combattant a traitor for not talking trash to him and were even about to beat that guy he finds it sad that a musician like boketshu is among those guys ready to cause havoc to a musician he says he does not understand that violent behaviour towards artists because he's played for president kabila and for several opposition members and like other artists he even played for foreign presidents playing for opposition could have cost him his life if kabila decided to treat him the way combattants does because he sang for kabila,he would have understood them if the main member of opposition papa tshisekedi called them and they refused,but he did not call them,and also their contract was just about elections and thats it,if combattants think still they receive money from kabila they are wrong he talks about what happened in south africa saying somehow the way combattants were treating their fellow congolese guys who came to south africa gave some ideas to south african themselves,now both some of the congolese who are combattants there and some who are have rushed back home he also talks about argument that there should be no concert anymore(no party)because we are mourning a lot of death from the war,saying first of all in Africa we mourn people with music,fair enough if popular artists are not suited to that but at least there are other forms of music which do and are not allowed either also in parties,you drink beer,you are well dressed,you eat well and he has never heard that combattants are doing hunger strike as protest and tribute to dead people he even adds we all lose people in about families,but we still give birth to children which comes from having fun(as to show that at some point life has to go on) we can honour the dead people but not in that form of brutally stopping what is the job of other people he believes the best thing is to have a open discussion with scientists and very intelligent people in general and he knows there are also some intelligent people among combattants and he urges them to be careful with some other combattants who are there just for violence he says also that unless this happen,he does not believe at all that concerts will restart as soon as kabila leaves like some of the combattant pretend since there are much more radical guys than the open ones he says he does not think the real issue is political and directly says to authorities to do something for them because they are in a better position he once again talks about having a discussion because you cant fight forever, every war has to end at some point proof with world war 1 and 2 he is really hurt about this situation and says he could have understood if it was in drc it would remain between us congolese but doing it abroad is detrimental for congolese people in general its not good for our image,and its such thing which are explaining the fact extreme right wing parties are getting more and more popular in here

So sad!!! But they are also paying the price of a divided people!!! If all Congolese musicians came together to talk about this then I believe it would have been different. If this continues then the Wattas and the Fabregas of Congo will not make the 6th generation they aspire to make.

He was meant to be there but was in france just returned 9 days ago went on spritual retreat and now did this first tv appearance

The ban needs to end some way or some how, I'll be very mad if someone stopped me from making good money just because of stupid personal reasons. I hope those combatufis understand that even though he sang and other artists sang for Kabila he was in a lose lose situation.

The blame goes to the Government of Congo period. I have said it many times that the ball is in their hands to deal with this issue.

he did say exactly this in a paris interview and even that some combattants are angry with musicians because they slept with their wives or girlfriends and stuff like that and that its hypocricy because everyday there are planes heading to drc of europe guys and many of them do the exact same thing,abandoning girls they made pregnant, sleeping with several girls (and some even doing sextapes) just because they come from europe and europe is seen like heaven in kinshasa... actually he wanted to go out and see those combattant face to face to discuss, its his bodyguard maitre tshoura who told him not to do that and sincerely we should be ashamed of situation of fighting against each other abroad,apart from the combattants vs musicians/politicians,its still something which happens often,i have never ever been to chateau rouge once in my life without a fight of congolese guys by the way running mouth from far is exactly what combattants do against kabila and co and musicians except that when they come to europe they show their violence skills to them, the few combattants who have returned home are seen as traitors

I do respect those views but what they're doing is wrong like blocking concerts, beating people up attempting to kidnap people etc. that's not being a freedom fighter that is being a true combattant (English pronounciation)

Back in his early days, Boketshu did a song with Papa Wemba. But I do believe that Boketshu is sincere in his disdain for many of his fellow musicians. I mean he is friends with ex-Zaiko singer Adamo Ekula.
