In the early 1990's,felix wazekwa,who was then a bank officer but also a songwriter,meets koffi olomide who he  appreciates a lot artistically and reveals to koffi he is a fan of him and will be honoured if koffi sings his songs and says his proverbs
he then says to koffi "i dont have any money to give you to show you how much i love you,i can only offer you for free an artistic contribution"
wazekwa's songs are then accepted by koffi but reworked like he always does when getting song from other people
everything is then  fine between them,koffi benefits from the help of a talented songwriter and wazekwa is contacted by many artists for his songs as his reputation of songwriter rises when working with koffi
but then in 1994,wazekwa is introduced to papa wemba by one of their common friends and it slowly leads to a growing conflict between koffi and wazekwa
 in fact,papa wemba was having a difficult time back then after losing awilo longomba and co who formed group nouvelle generation,and wazekwa's song he gave papa wemba had a massive success and made papa wemba bounce back
but meanwhile,papa wemba and koffi were in conflict,so koffi did not appreciate wazekwa also working with the "enemy"
and when asked who is wazekwa in interviews (wazekwa was unknown in congo at that time) koffi replied " i dont know him" which hurt wazekwa
then one year after,wazekwa motivated by papa wemba decides to start his own career as a singer(he was singing his songs on cassettes before giving them to wemba,koffi and other artists,he did not become a singer all of a sudden)
wazekwa starting a cereer,with a very similar artistic style to koffi, and supported by papa wemba,makes the division between koffi and wazekwa eben bigger
one year after that,koffi and wemba realise album wake up as a sign of reconciliation but koffi refuses to let wazekwa give them songs for that album,another thing which hurt wazekwa
 when forming his group cultura,wazekwa recruits koffi's atalaku beewens for revenge but  beevens does not last in the group as strange things happen around him whenever he goes to wazekwa rehearsals and concerts
wazekwa's rise in the late 1990s takes their conflict to another level,as both start attacking each other openly in songs and interviews
a first attempt of reconciliation happens in 2001 but quicky they restart attacking each other and wazekwa recruits cnn,who was forced out of quartier latin but again strange things happen and it does not last
in 2004,when most congolese stars reunite at restaurant maisha park for reconciliation and with the promise of not stealing anymore musicians from rival group and calling a fellow leader to discuss with him whenever its one of his musicians who appoints for a job, ferre joins quartier latin which causes controversy within maisha members and between koffi and werra,who quickly retired from them
wazekwa is among those who criticize koffi for recruiting ferre without ever consulting werra and wazekwa's position on that affair is  considered by koffi as being part of their conflict so he wants to prove him  a point
he then starts contacting many cultura pays vie musicians but at the beginning they refuse and prefer to remain in cultura
wazekwa and cultura  are planned to perform in a area of kinshasa were there are many koffi fans, and they honour their contract but  they are given a very hostile reception,most of group members were beaten,hit with stones,wazekwa himself  miraculously remains unscathed from that incident due to  the help of his bodyguards,who also suffer injuries while trying to protect wazekwa
its then the start of mutual attacks at concerts and whenever one of them or their group members go to an area considered like belonging to the rival
fally ipupa and jordan escape a beating after going in wazekwa quarter to show off with their brand new cars, and in the same time gessac is rescued by street kids when seen in a " koffi quarter"
koffi continues to prepare his plan of causing serious damge to wazekwa by stealing him  the main men of every departmentt
in 2007,koffi then concerts singers joss diena,gabbana and licha,guitarists hono kapanga and pitshou concorde,drummer dickens,atalakus gessac and nono chaka aswell as  female dancers "cheftaine" olga and  bodyguards lourd bijouna,mboyo and maitre jamos proposing them 7500 dollars each
one day, they go on tv and taunt koffi as usual but some of them are very seduced by koffi's financial offer
 the day after,all of a sudden when on their way for cultura rehearsal( they have the habit of reuniting together and then lining up cars from that point to the rehearsal place) the cars where gessac,joss diena,hono kapanga,gabbana and bodyguard mboyo changed their direction and went to koffi's home
the rivalry had then reached its highest level,attacks between both camps are even more intense and aftr attending a studio session with koffi,hono kapanga is seriously injured at his head but even today nothing is 100 per cent clear about who really did that,some think tis wazekwa's bodyguards who did that, some think its koffi  with his machiavelic  behaviour who  was behind it
both group are given 6 month ban on tv after those incidents,and wazekwa creates bewildement as he furiously drives his car until koffi's house ready to have a fight with him
those wazekwa ex-employees enjoy a bright start in quartier latin but are quickly unsettled since their arrival in quartier latin was more from a desire to destroy wazekwa than to strengthen quartier latin
 on the other hand,wazekwa bounces back from losing those key members and keeps attacking koffi stronger and stronger in his songs and interview
then in 2011,both are invited at the ministry of culture and even though they do not sincerely reconcile make the promise of stopping intense polemic against each other

I remember that 2005 Koffi was scared when Culutra musicians announced the album Faux Mutu Moko Boye on TV. So quickly after that he came to Matete to trying to reconcilate with Wazekwa and asked hinm to remove that name for the album. Later after that they came to Wazekwa's house with Pauline MUkendi, Edingwe,etc. to really make an and to the war. But then Koffi teased Wazekwa with touching his beard and people saw that as an end of Wazekwa's succes. Because it was said that his beard had magic stuff, like Samson in the bible. Wazekwa sung about that in his album Que Demande Le Peuple.

I think that if that stuff of 2007 didn't happend that Wazekwa would be on higher level. But in the world of Congolese music, artists don't like to see their collegue's becoming better then them.

Wazekewa mades me laugh when he said what Koffi said against him when he was angry at him

i also forgot to mention how koffi did all he could to disturb wazekwa's olympia and zenith concerts
posters were spread all over paris one day  before olympia saying that the concert is cancelled(it was a copy of the original wazekwa posters but  CANCELLED was added)
and koffi paid some guys to be at metro and tramways stations near olympia hall and tell people who took metro and tramways to attend the concert that the concert was cancelled
that's why when wazekwa made more than 90 per cent of olympia seats and returned to congo after the concert,he was mocking koffi for failing to disturb his concert
meanwhile,one day after the concert,images arrived in kinhsasa and the day after  that,koffi who also had that golden jacket wazekwa wore at the concert gave it to babia to go on tv and mock wazekwa saying that its a shame that  a simple band employee like him had  the same jacket than a so-called leader playing in a mythic hall like olympia,and some other bad things
at zenith  concert,somebody(suspected as being sent by koffi) called police to say there was a bomb and if they did not come fast bad things would happen then  police came and made people wait until they find that bomb
many fans lost patience awnt back home,once again like olympia there was that system of posters saying concert is cancelled and the system at stations
wazekwa was advised not to play after all what happened and only few people having entered the zenith hall
honestly,without this he would not have the complete 6000 seats  of zenith but qwould have definitely had more crowd than what was seen in videos
wazekwa forced himself to play that concert despit being mentally hurt(in some videos of that concet there are secondes where wazekwa is shown crying and hugged and encouraged by journalist lumba bawu) just to prove koffi that whatever koffi did against him, his name would be on the list of those who played at zenith
one day after,when images of the concert went in kinhsasa,koffi went on tv and drunk a cup of champagne live on tv  to celebrate wazekwa playing in front of a small crowd
earlier than olympia and zenith,wazekwa was attacked with "mbasu"(mystical diseases),obviously he thought it was koffi
he was seriously sick for three months and survived to death
this made their conflict even worse but wazekwa never reveal this story until recently, he was attacking him in every single interview,especially when koffi had his problems with female dancers who stayed in europe
and recently he revealed that story,and  said " i prefer speaking to tissues or any type of things,that that human you consider as my rival, he is a devil and i will never speak to him again"

I think he is as good as Werra or jb. archos where did Jos Diena and Gessac go to? I think if they had remained in culture they would still be there and infact going by the videos Wazekwa liked jos so much. Making conclusion based on this piece article one may say that mopao engages in which craft but myself have never wanted to get into all that though at one time I also heard that Wazekwa was also found with human hand in his car in Kin. how that true may be you confirm pliz.

wazekwa is a class behind jb and werra
 you have three types of big stars in congo:legends like kester,papa wemba,nyoka longo who maintain themselves artistically but not with the massive success they had in the past,the second category is koffi jb and werra the guys capable of dominating the highlights even if performing in on the same podium as 10 other stars,then the category of ferre,fally,wazekwa who made their breakthrough recently as big stars
joss diena has his own group now, and gessac also,they worked  on joss' first album together and separated few months ago
and yes wazekwa was found with a dead human in his car,he was caught by police since at that time there were a lot of security controls on roads because it was spread in kinshasa that some people who had nothing to do with army or whatever like that had guns,kalachnikov and all that in their cars
that story was even related in newspaper but wazekwa heavily paid them so that they do not make massive noise about it
otherwise it would destroy his reputation

I get you archos, I personally  don't grade Wazekwa in the same cadre as fally and Ferre the same I dont grade Koffi with JB and Wera to me koffi is a bit special and thats me. Talk of djo Kester where is he living today? Thank you very very much brother for all this.

Do you remember there was one video of Koffi I think,he was in studio in a live interview with Djo K and I think Wazekwa went to the studio to answer koffi directly and everyone was panicking in studio and Djo K was trying to calm them down,i think Gessac was there too,he looked like he wanted to run,everyone was looking up at the door. :lol:

I can't be surprised by Djo K's actions no wonder i saw him one of the recent Werra dvd's making announcements,i found it strange,the last time i saw him do that was on the Werra live a la Kikwit in 2005 i think.
