Wenge Maison Mere live at Studio Maman Ngebi for VSS (Variete Samedi Soir) presented by Zacharie Bababaswe on 20th Decembre 1997, 13 days after the split of Wenge 4x4. With Didier Masela, Ali Mbonda, Papy Kakol, Olivier Mpungi, Aridjana, Flamme Kapaya, Vasco de Gamma, Didier Kalonji "aka Bill Clinton", Nzembela "aka Celeo Schramme", Baby Ndombe, Ferre Gola, Adjani, Jus d'ete Mulopwe (who came from Wenge El Paris, after being unsettled by Savanet Depitcho & Tshotsholi with his friends (the guy who danced for Koffi in the v12-clips & for years with in Defao's videoclips & concerts 96-99). It was Maison Mere's official launch after their first concerts/repetitions at Bar-Vis-a-Vis, Zamba Playa & Moto na Moto.
at that time it was still called Wenge Musica B.C.B.G.4x4 TT. It became officially Wenge Maison Mere, when they came in Paris to record Solola Bien. Maison Mere means motherhouse (the founding house). Because it was J.B. who decided then to leave Wenge 4x4, after that Didier Masela came with the statement on Manda Tchebwa's Karibu Variete that the one who doesn't show up at La Zamba Playa was fired and that everyone was then consired as a simple musician of the band without grades. Almost the whole band decided then to follow J.B. with the succes of his solo-album Feux de l'Amour & contracts for Europe-concerts in his hand, leaving Wenge 4x4 behind for Didier Masela, Aldophe Dominguez & Werrason joined by the rejected Ferre, Christian Mwepu(who didn't want to be Patient Kusangila's understudy on the bass-guitar), Ali Mbonda (who was considered as a spy of Werrason) and the male-dancers who where dancing for Wenge since 1993-94. Guys like Burkina Faso, Theo Bidens, Titina and co where thinking then that they would live finally for years well.... (getting paid very well every week).
Many people where apperciating Maison Mere for at that time the young talent musicians, but didn't believe that they would succeed one day or pass/reach Wenge B.C.B.G's succes who was playing then sold-out concerts in Europe or other bands like Nouvelle Ecriture, Wenge El Paris, Quartier Latin and even Zaiko. With Blaise Bula throwhing shots towards Werra & co "batika ko-rever" (they must stop dreaming), rendekita(rendez-vous na ki-tata), ba kadia(witches), etc. something which would turn against him 1 year later.
