What is the reason why musicians leave their passport to the leaders? Knowing that the boss can kick you out or you can leave wherever you want to??

Simple reason dictatorship of leaders, of course they don't trust the musicians enough plus things had to be tight because musicians and singers were coming as illegal immigrants "ngulus".

the passports are with leaders or admins,because they feel its more secure to have it all together sometimes musicians or leaders themselves lose it
for example if you visit mbuta kiss at his office you'll still see plenty of blaise bula,werra and co former passports even jb has his passport with mbuta kiss
then like mentioned above there is the reason of having control on them but they do get it when they have something to do(but then the group makes sure they do not want to surprise the group and go to europe without authorization)
also apart from ngulu's in the years where they were many concerts in europe many musicians came with passports of guys who were previously in the group,knowing that the more filled a passport is with visas the more likely it will get europe visa again 
notice that when europe changed something on their passports to fight against fraud the list of visas for groups became smaller and smaller because they cant anymore used passport of somebody and face of somebody else

Well, I think is very stupid for musicians leaving their passport to a guy, I mean in my mind I wouldn't even give my home key to my best friend never mind passports
