fabregas posted that he received a double disque d or(100000 cds sold in france) but on the site which shows the list of those who got it he is nowhere to be seen

I noted that also; unless artists now have input on how to design the presenation frame, Fabergas' is way too well done. Looks like his record label produced it themselves. I'd be shocked if he sold 10,000 physical copies

So Franco, Abeti Masikini, Tabu Ley, Koffi Olomide, JB Mpiana, Werrason and Fally Ipupa all lied to us. Kassav who was a populair French-antillean band never got a platinum record in France , which the international press did us believe.

It seems none of albums from the African record companies that went under are listed on that search engine and all World artists are noticeably missing. Listed albums are mostly from Sony France, EMI France, Universal France, etc.

Even the biggest African artists like Salif Keita, Sekouba Bambino, Ali Farka Touré, Tinariwen, and Oumou Sangaré who've all went gold and higher (Platinum, Grammies) are all missing. Wemba's Emotion, which was re-released by Real-World Records because it went Gold so fast is missing

Kassav' for quite a long time were signed to Epic & CBS records, both companies are based in the U.S and under the RIAA for certification.

The last two Congolese artists to receive disque D'or were Fally and then Koffi (correct me if i'm wrong). Fally's family and Monsoh organized a surprise party for him:



Koffi got one for BEK. He seemed genuinely surprised when a representative show up to his house because of the difficult recording circumstances after having to regroup:


More recently Fally got a SNEP Platinum disc for his featuring with French artist MHD:

I didn't even know Koffi got one for BEK, he doesn't even talk bout it.

haha yeah koffi is much more interested in koras than disque d'or,lol the stick fabrice is getting some people said his disque is a " disque dort"(dort means asleep in english,because he got a true disque d'or in his dreams)

Thinking about it again,in one of those interviews where he showed his newly found arrogant attitude he said in the whole history of drc there has never been  any disque d'or and all the older guys lied (and insisted on fally obviously) then said with his current double album he is convinced he will be the first congolese artist to get a true disque d'or
