Unfortuately, its the cost effective way of making music. This is the problem I forsee with all these guys establishing their own studios - they are now the ultimate arbiter of what is good music, no more top level arrangeurs. The arrangeurs they are employing now are too afraid to tell the boss the music is rubbish

These days I have zero expectations for albums. Waiting for the 2 or 3 albums per year that pleasantly surprises me.

Rien de nouveau...same monotonous rhythms like Marchouse described, clip wise we will see big booty b*iches like always, lyrics will be the same shit with a bit of shades throwing to those he has beef with and The end. That's Koffi of today music..nothing to look forward to or get excited

Previous QL members aside, the one thing in common with nearly all the songs you listed is that they were recorded in top French studios with arrangements and programming done almost exclusively by Philippe Guez and other some notables likes Manu Lima and Hilaire Kashal. Not saying he needs them, but it's an interesting obersevation

Starting with the absolute rubbish that was Skol mandramanda, his music has been recorded at N'Diaye or his home studio, which in comparsion is way behind in techonology. This is why all the rhumbas sound the same and the chorus' very distant sounding.

you guys absolutely nailed it

I think Koffi is suffering from what Maison Mere is suffering from. Good singers and good musicians are gone from an amazing line up which we're all wishing from. These bands now have a bunch of people who are trying fill the void. Problem is the hole is too big to fill. I think we're better off listening music made in the early 2000s to mid-2000s. Koffi is trying to stay relevant with this new kind of music which is really not what they (Congolese musicians) are known for.
