I tend to agree. Ferre is talented no doubt but his music direction and arrangements some seems to sound monotonous. Particular the rhumba. You feel like listening to same song or album. Who arranges and directs ferre music. Maybe for a start he needs to allow other singers vocals to twist most of his rhumba.

Most fans seem to sing the same song... Monotony. This Jesus guy makes some of the best lullabies if you ask me...

The song is good just like most of Ferre's ballads. But I still get the feeling like I'm still listening to a song from Boite Noire. My thinking or expectation is that every album should have it's own sound, it's own beat, it's own feel. I'm not saying it's a bad song. Just not what I was hoping for especially after listening to and enjoying Jugement.

I agree with you, the song is nice but it sounds like it was originally for Boite Noire an it does get to sound monotone but then you get songs like Wumela and Mannix. QQJD is still a good album.

Well, i managed to listen to all three volumes and repeated them several times, this album is 3 times better than Boite Noire. There is a bit of variety in arrangement,this time some rhumbas even end with some semi sebene with lead guitar.

Ladies and gents, Ferre Gola does rhumba odemba of Lutumba and if you know Lutumba's style them you should know what to expect from this album and from Ferre,it's either you love him or hate him. There is a great variety of musicians to choose from, for me,am totally satisfied with the album and it will be on repeat for a long time.
If i want sebene,i look to Maison Mere and Patrouille des Stara,if i want tcha tcho,i look to Koffi, if i want diversity of songs,i look to BCBG,if i want modern rhumba,i look to Fally,that does the trick for me.

yes. i always say ferre gola is the torch bearer for the 'old guard' he makes the old style fresh again. whereas fally and the others look to modernize. there's room for all of it IMO. it's sad to me that people limit themselves to one or the other.

The added advantage is that there are some are some solo songs by some of his musicians, one particular song that is catchy and deep is by Echappe who was previously with Papa Wemba. Ferre's young brother Guy also did very well on his song.
