This was moment when Papa Wemba was just released from prison, after that Ngulu-Affaire. During this era the decline of Congolese music started. You can see that the concert hall was not packed like usually when Congolese artists perform there. Koffi would undergo the same experience 2 months later at Zenith. I remember that Emeneya mocked Papa Wemba & Koffi Olomide in an interview with Gaspard Love, for not playing at a packed Zenith and dancing Nkila Mogrosso, while Wemba just claimed to have converted to Christianity.

It's a wonder this concert even happened considering it was an abosolute mess behind the scenes from an organizational standpoint

In the same interview he mocked Wemba for recruiting Sampaio and the way he was praising his 2eme Voix. It looked like Kester started to be jealous of Wemba & Koffi, since that he was not able anymore to dominate them with starting to record many interviews to attack them.

Than I advise you to listen to the Nkuzi-Lele album of Viva Tendance & Papa Wemba. They were supposed to replace the old Viva La Musica "Cour des Grands" (Djanana, Gloria Thukadio, Lidjo Kwempa, Fafa de Molokai, etc.), but Papa Wemba decided then abandon that project.

Bendoson was fired for doing an interview where he criticized Maisha Parc. Alpatchino, Sampaio and New Jack left Nouvelle Ecriture, because people judged them as unproductive, due to the flop of the Banzonkion EP with people seeing that as the really end of Papa Wemba. They were also tired with the way they were living in Nouvelle Ecriture since the Europe-ban. So Wemba's staff decided to form a new band "Bana Malongi" recruited by Senado, but hey failed to convince people with the Kaka Yo-album.

The album flopped and Wemba was already 57 years old and started to focus more on his family-live instead of putting much energy in his three bands (Nouvelle Ecriture, Bana Malongi & Viva Tendance) and guess that the Europe-ban for Nouvelle Ecriture got him get tired. But he still performed with Viva Tendance in France for some concerts in 2010 and 2008.
