I was born and I have grown in Italy, and I feel Italian, even though I have a very strong passion for Lingala and Congolese music.
Being from an ex-rich now poor country I have always asked myself how people in poor country, especially musicians can get rich or be successful, with most of the people being poor. I wanna focus on Fally today not because I am a fan or a hater but because is the Congolese based Congo-Kin musician with most fame, currently his most successful video Eloko Oyo has reached the 30 million views.
So my question is who are the people who contribute this much to the artist success, even though they country is poor? Ferre, Fally, Heritier, and many other artist who started not very far away in terms of time, always get national attention and a good amount of money over some music made in a very poor country like Congo.
And you know what is the most shocking thing? Is that Congo is almost 70 million habitants and 30% of them only have internet, if we made some calculus, that's 21 million so all the people with an internet connection in Congo know Fally, that is absurd, the whole country know you.
