What about Alain Mpela archos ? Did he help JB when he was depressed in 2003 ? Did his departure really affected him and BCBG ?
If I understand well Anti-Terro was originally a PPU album scheduled for a late 2002 release. But the fact sponsors call him for some concerts in Kinshasa cancelled that and then it became a BCBG album and they started to record it in Kinshasa in 2003 when they get the 5 years ban and the departure of Alain Mpela made them start from scratch and they finally finish the album in South Africa in 2004.

Anti Terro was orginally a PPU album, which had to precede Chemin de Fer "aka 11eme Commadement". Alain Mpela had to put 6 songs on that album (some songs ended up in Intifada). But guys like Jules Kibens & Bogus Bompemba were not happy and wanted to have also songs on that album. So they recuded Alain Mpela songs to 4, to let some BCBG-members also have songs on that album. So it became a JB, PPU & Wenge BCBG-album. After tbat JB returned Kinshasa with BCBG, leaving the PPU again in Europe along with CNN (who just joined the band). After all those concerts in Kinshasa they tried to return to Europe at the end of 2002 and beginning of 2003, preparing aa huge in event on the background (Triple Zenith), to counter Maison Mere's succes of 2002. This all reacted a lot buzz and polemic. But they got their request for visa's getting rejected serveral times with Papa Wemba's arrestation making it worser. So they started to tour in Congo with primus (Bouclage) and recording some songs in Kinshasa (RTNC, Studio Meko and an other studio) The PPU's were tired to wait for them, since that they started to beg poeple money in Paris and Brussels for months. So they decided to leave. Which led Anti-Terro to become a BCBG-album. The departure of the PPU's made the situation for JB Mpiana worse. because they were one of the reasons that JB failed to get visa's for the Schengen-area the whole year long and with them leaving he got a 5 year ban. They tried several times to negociate with the embassadies of France and Belgium for their situation, but if one country agreed the other would disagree. Werrason had the same problem in 2004, because of that Ngulu-incident in 2002 in Brussels with that women who claimed to be scammed by Werrason for Ngulu's. Which made them stay in two years long in Kinshasa and touring just only in the U.K. and several African countries. But they were lucky to let those problems stay secret. After that the Stade de Charletty-event got cancelled, they tried several times to get visa's for the Schengen-area. But their requests got still rejected several times, which made him record Alerte Generale in Kinshasa, since that they he wanted to record Miracles in Europe and weren't sure to return to Europe. But they were lucky that they had alot of politicians behind of them. Which made them get visa's on the last minutes in 2004 for those Christmas-shows, after that Alerte Generale got released.

alain mpela helped but it was a tricky situation for him, unless i am mistaken its because of alain mpela that didi arrived around 4 X4 then bcbg and maison mere simultaneously so he was doing some effort but not like the rest who were literally ready to attack him
also about the bcbg situation since 2001 alain and jb was not the same anymore people started convincing him that with blaise makaba and masela starting to go idle he could become the fourth clan wenge leader(people forget about marie paul easily, let alone manda) and there was issue of album aswell as he had taken money already so he was under pressure( hence the quick release of intifida once gone)
jb himself was very  affected but a couple of the other guys at the head of the group were relieved as they'd go higher in hierarchy
jb even said like 7  years after or more its only abraham who have made me heal the loss of alain mpela
to explain in short there relationship before 2003 2004  alain mpela literally took werra's role, very involved in personal secrets, strong trust...And having lived with jb also had that "younger brother" thing

I had no idea CNN was in PPU, I always assumed he joined Quarter Latin Integral after his falling out with Koffi. Wasn't the album Volte de Face was released in 2002? I'm guess his run with the PPU ended just as quickly as it started due to the visa situation.

Knowing the feud between Koffi and JB Mpiana during the early 2000s, why would Alain Mpela even entertain any type of contact with Koffi Olomide? I feel like he created a situation where he viewed as compromised in terms of loyalty. As great as Anti-Terror was, Mpela's absence definately diminished the group's appeal.

It's interesting to hear the collabs btw Wenge BCBG and PPU during that time, Bic Rouge had interesting dynamic with the Wenge musicans.

thinking about it funnily enough jb accepted all the singers of the collapsing wenge kumbela except jordan who went to latino and all the backline went to pierrette adams
so outside heritier and didi kalombo the early ppu's were mainly wenge kumbela guys( late cellulaire, yondi, djo lokis, zakoko, dolin, bic rouge, apis volcan)

CNN was with BCBG,not with the PPU's, but he didn't return with them to Kinshasa. JB Mpiana said to him to stay in Europe.

CNN joined Felix Wazekwa for a moment like Eric Tutsi. Then he went to Europe on his own. I never understanded CNN's situation, because JB always said on tv that CNN was a BCBG-member and waiting for them in Europe, but at the same time he was releasing songs with Lebou Kabuya. Volte Face a single of two songs to test them. The succes of that single in France and Africa made them sign with 1er Classe, which was a label of the French rap-duo "Neg'Marrons". Volte Face was mainly recorded with session-artists Spino La Djatence, Silawuka Ngouma, Biva Rai, etc. Then Lebou went to Kinshasa, recuiting guys like Mirage Supersonice, Mon Ami Guelord, etc. and went to record Voodoo with CNN and them in Dakar, in Youssou N'dour's studio.

did Bic Rouge join PPU in Kinshasa or Paris ? Because I remember Wenge Kumbela touring in France in 2002, but I don't know if Bic Rouge was still with them.

I remember Alain Mpela's father being angry wanting him to leave BCBG after Bercy. Claiming that he couldn't even the rent of his house and then that rumour of BCBG being split. Of Alain Mpela having created another band with some PPU and BCBG members.

Alain Mpela recorded Intifada to quick. It was released two months after his departure from BCBG. He had to take some time to record that EP. It was better if he recorded an album, then quickly a EP.  I wonder what JB's reaction was to the song decicated to Didi Kinuani. I'm sure that he saw him as a traitor, escpially with those songi-songi guys close to him.

he came from kin with the group at last minute with the traditional dancers
alain made a mistake which is that he lived the flashy lifestyle, buying brand new lexus and co without having an hand in the group's finances the way seguin and jdl do these days,so like most of those who went hardcore on that lifestyle thing he was shining but struggling in private, like he proudly said back then he'd rather go and spend 1000 dollars at grand hotel than staying home like a pastor
obviously him singing for didi pissed jb big time with the guys coming in like "boss you see what did we tell you that guy is a snake" and they exaggerated at some point alain tried to rejoin in 2006 2007 but he the clan of new chiefs planned to humiliate him by asking fans to request him kneeling down but genta and chai warned him so he took a step back and stayed in europe

Why do those chiefs and staff always want to humilate big musicians who want return to their band ? Why aren't they cool like Papa Wemba's and Koffi Olomide's staff, who don't care about humilating ex'musicians.

Did Bic Rouge perform then at Bercy ?

CNN would of been a strange chocie for BCBG, his vocal style doesn't share chemistry with Genta or Celluaire nor the general sound of Wenge.

Besides, the loss of Mpela and the group's visa hold-up likely forced CNN to move on from a possiblity of collaborating with BCBG. PPU ultimately decided the same thing, which explains their solo release a year or so later.

How did JB feel about PPU branching off from him, has he ever commeneted about that group? Does he still get along with the core members?

he was very pissed about them because they made his issues get worse and you can feel his anger through didi kalombo when he returned he was pretty much the alain mpela of the PPU and jb punished him by telling him he'll have to earn his way back from the absolute bottom along with the newly recruited guys of then modashow and co while him didi expected to be straight into starting lineup instead of boguys
talking about cnn anybody interested in a biography of him?
