Till this day haven't listened to Temps Present from the beginning till the end. Because during that time I wasn't liking Werrason anymore, after seeing how they fired Celeo and they way Werrason was praising Joseph Kabila in every interview,while the country wasn't (still not) going well. With Bord Ezanga Kombo who was released 2 months later taking everything over.

I knew that Werrason liked Kabila so much since day one, but he became a fanatic after they arrested his brother 'frere' Patrice Ngoy Musoko.

After much consideration, the following is my rank of my favorite albums:
 
1) Force d'Intervention Rapide Force (I'll never forget the first time I heard Japonais Maladi's aggressive guitar solos over Kakol's pounding drums! Although the production was not as polished as Titanic, the musicans, music video directors, and singers involved created an album which cemented their place in Congolese music)


2) Kibusia Mpimpa (Explosive chemistry between Mboka Lyia, Flamme Kapaya, and Japonais! What I really appreciated about this album was the maturity of Werrason as a vocalist artistry from songs like 13 ans and Baladine, while still enjoying his more playful nature in songs like Waka-Waka and Ntima Mbote.)

3) Solola Bien (What praise can be given to this album that hasn't already been mentioned? Flamme Kapaya while a novice compared to Japonais, he brought a lot of passion in his early position as soloist and didn't let me down. While Vita Imana remains a classic song about heartache, I tend to gravitate more to the understated perfection that is Rendez-vous manqué. Serge Mabiala and Baby Ndombe have good chemistry in that song, as well as in Likama. This was the last album of Tata with the group, I have to say his goofy dancing brought a smile to everyone's faces from the clips on that album.)

4) A La Queue Leu Leu (I enjoyed the growth of the group as most members were credited a song to their name, with Style Moomberg, Examen, and Effet Placebo being among my favorite. Celeo Scram was finally able to match Bill Clinton in terms of space and cries, plus the concerts for this album were quite impressive though the production on the album and video clips were not always as good.)

5)Temoignage (Ba Kanisi Toko Sila! Wenge Musica Masion Mere not only proved that they could survive the creation of Les Marquis, but could leave behind memorable songs like Conscience-Bela for fans of old school rhumba and my personal favorite Loin De Toi)

Interesting list, Matebu! I agree with you, N’diaye didn't have the tools needed to perfect the sound of their debuting album, but that first album definately made a statement! They have the creative power to go toe to toe with Mpiana and company.

A La Queue Leu Leu yielded a more entertaining tour than Temoignage, but I find myself gravitating more to Temoignage than the other album.

I found that the arrangement for A La Queue Leu Leu suppressed the bass in drumming that Kakol is best known for, not to mention that the rhythm guitar is barely audible compared to the snyths and macaras. The only instrument spared in the audio mixing process was Mimiche's bassline.

You're right about the mabangas tho, you could tell he got plenty of money hahaha!

I can't rank Werra's albums in terms of favourites. I pretty much love all of them. The one album that I don't really feel is Tecno Malewa. For whatever reason this album just doesn't get to me. Maybe a few songs here and there but I don't feel it.

As for the rest my favourite is the one I'm listening to at that particular point

As far as EP's go, my favorites are as below:

Same @Grandpretre, when I saw the Alerte Generale cover I felt betrayed. But I was pretty young back then, afterwards I just heard songs here and there rather than a whole album from him.

These are the trinity.

 If Solola Bien is Off The Wall (informing DRC and Africa abroad as far as what's to come) then Kibuisa Mpimpa is the Thriller of Werra's catalogue. It's a monster. It's so hard to skip a song on Kibuisa Mpimpa except Nakoyamba Yo.  There should be a thread/capsule on that album alone. Stories of witnessing hearing and witnessing it the day it dropped, the hysteria afterwards. Photos, interviews, concerts, studio sessions. If there is one please point me to it. Then the Dangerous or if there's any Prince fans, Sign Of The Times, A la queue leu leu. The last resort, and the last time we saw the best generation of MM together.

Ugh, still hurts thinking about it.
