What is this fascination with the chegues? And especially  with Viva and ex viva artists... Papa Wemba , Kester and even Reddy Amisi.

the name shegue did not exist before 1990's,it was created by papa wemba aooarently but viva since is creation has been surrounded by schegues untll today except they did not have that name
to explain to you better what shegues are,there is two versions of shegue,first you have the street kids,who just wander in streets begging for money,then those who steal,deal drugs,assault people and stuff like that
this seconde group of shegue has transformed into  what is cureently caled in congo kuluna
 so wemba was surrounded by the second group and later by the first one,it was like his "mafia"(same later for kester and reddy)
in the same style there is also werra and maison mere,the group was almost single handedly created by shegues which casue taht big loyalty werra has towards them,and the one they have towards him

Archos BCBG ,Koffi and modern artists like Fally and Ferre don't have chegues? Are they mostly dancers?

yes they have chegues as dancers,especially bcbg who is now the only group xith victoria of kester to have that much guys dedicated to dancing
once jb was asked why he doesnt do social actions(like werra) and he explained that he took with him about a hudred of chegues in the group who isntead of stealing in the streets and all that,can have a proper life through dancing
same for kester
 what i was talking about  when talking  of wemba and werra is that,chegues are much closer to them than any other artist
they are part and parcel of the groups,excample sankara who was a chegue and now has a pivotal role in maison mere, same in viva maybe not now that viva is not much in the spotlight anymore but in the  past
you see what i mean?
