I found it weird because of how quickly the band dissolved after the release of Droit De Veto. Wasn't Somono the first to leave? He didn't tour with them at that point, he wasn't  evem present at Olympia.

Although it was nice to see Tupac Mamale participate on an actually album. Apparently he has been a long time member of Quarter Latin (like Eric Tutsi), but he didn't participate in Loi despite being in the video clips (same with Pathy Bass). Why didn't they participate in prior albums?

It wasn't really weird Somono just missed Olympia he was present for the other concerts of that tour like zenith, Brixton academy and so on, most band members left over pay issues cause of their living conditions and they wanted cars like BCBG etc but koffi refused he only got the remaining members cars to prove a point. Mamale joined QL in 1996 same time as bouro he just wasn't selected for the ultimatum Loi tour along with willy bula and Eric Tutsi since koffi preferred 4 singers

It wasn't weird. In their are slasaus many departures or splits after album releases in the Congolese music-scene. There were alot of problems in Quartier Latin after Loi. Droit de Veto came out 1 months before Quartier Latin returned to Africa for concerts, before returning in Kinshasa.

Somono was left behind in South Africa. We went to Paris on his own, after that Francis Kalombo paid a ticket for him. Somono came 1 day later after Olympia and then reconciled with Koffi in Paris and toured with them a participated on Droit de Veto.

Babia dissapeard as first, then Bouro Mpela left (he went to Antwerp living with his parents), then Pathy Bass who foight with Nseka and Lebou Kabuya & Somono decided to stay in Europe m, when Quartier Latin returned. Modogo & Sam wanted also to stay, but Koffi sended some girls to them hahaha,  then they discovered that they were sended on a mission, but it was to late. So they went back to Africa. They were very lucky to return back to Paris, after checking to codes of their tickets.
Babia was kipnapped by some thugs in Paris, after that Teka Diamona saw her and called Koffi. If I was Koffi would have cancelled that Stade des Martyrs show. But wanted to prove everybody a point that he was "Le Guide". But it flopped very hard with everybody mocking him.

They were both members of Duc Herode's Golden Tchatcho (which had musicians like Serge Mabiala, Pecos, Celeo, Jordan Kusa, J3, Flamme Kapaya, Guylain Mpungi, etc.). Before 1998, Koffi Olomide was taking only 4 singers. Back in 1996 Koffi had Eric Tutsi, Babia, Willy Bula, Modogo, Sam Tshintu, Suzuki and many others. So it was difficult to make it on the tour list. Bouro Mpela who was new, was amazed Koffi with his funny dancing skills, which made Koffi chose him above Babia. The tour they made in 1997 was very long. Being 8 months abroad, touring in Africa, Europe, Canada & USA. They recorded then Ultimatum & Loi on the same moment. Pathy Bass participated on Loi. Loi was already finished. But Koffi wanted to add those cries Calugi was doing in concerts in his solo album. So in November 1997 Koffi went back to Europe with Lebou Kabuya, Felly Tyson, Do Akongo, Champion & Pathy Bass and recorded quickly the sebenes and the generic. With the album coming out in December 1997.

Yeah. That was after that Academia was created. With Koffi asking then what they wanted with finally accepting to buy cars for them. Wenge messed everything up. That thing of musicians wanting to have cars made almost the whole made of Bozi stay in Europe back in 2001. Which made Chamberton return to Quartier Latin and Kabose join Maison Mere. Defao had the same problems with Big Stars in 2000 with the contract of Uganda making it worser.

Was Suzuki left in South Africa too before Olympia ? Somono said in an interview that he had the feeling Koffi didn't want them two at Olympia. Did he want to get rid of Somono ? Or was it a problem of Visa like Rocky Blanchard ?

I think Suzuki left because Koffi didn't chose him for Olympia. Maybe he went to Europe on his own after that to record his solo album. Did he ?

Suzuki was in Kinshasa. Yeah Koffi wanted to get rid of him & Suzuki.

JB Mpiana brougth Suzuki to Paris, when he came for that concert aft Zenith. Watch this interview of Somono explaining everything about that problem.

Was JB Mpiana's intention of bringing Sukuzi to Zenith of 99 was a gesture of a possible recruitment or just to spite Koffi? I was always curious as to why he invited to perform with BCBG.

What happened with Koffi and Stade des Martyrs show which made it such a flop? I thought the general response to the album prior to the performance was positive, did the recent defections of his artist have anything to do with public perception being indifferent towards the band at that moment?

 Its a donor who convinced jb to take  suzuki to europe jb knew he'd stay which is why he allowed caludji to do animation on in his album

To fill Stade des Martyrs had to have a big fanbase. Back in 1999, only Viva La Musica, Wenge BCBG & Wenge Maison Mere had a big fanbase. But for Werrason & Wemba it wasn't enough, because they also failed later that year to fill Stade des Martyrs. Koffi Olomide had back in 1999 not a big fanbase, his biggest fans came from the elite and mostly girls and rest were based in Europe. Another fact is that he had problems with Papa Wemba & Zaiko plus that it rained very hard that day.
