Back in 2000 when Bogus was working on his solo album before joining Wenge BCBG, he wanted to sue Werrason for his songs Surprise Kapangala and Sourire des Vendeurs ,which Werrason still hadn't pay after 7 years. But JB Mpiana made him change his idea and gave him some money and not long after that he joined Wenge BCBG rehearshing with the PPU until that BCBG returned in Kinshasa to fully join the band
Maria is about a guy who's hart is broken because that Maria made a end on their relationship since that he is poor. Her parent didn't want that relationship and even insulted the guy saying that they would put hislife in danger if they see him again with their daughter. The song made Werrason fans attacking Wemba's house at Ma Campagne for saying "bakala te nako somba zamba, ba niama nioso bakoma ya nga" (I will buy the forest, so that all the animals will become my property), which considered as an attack towards Werrason who was then calling himself The king of the forest). Btw who is Maria ? Is Maria the same Maria who Wemba sung as Maria Valencia in Le Voyageur ?
Elongi Ya Jesus is a song which is denouncing pastors who are making it a business of it. I remember Papa Wemba having problems with the Kimbanguist-chruch for having put Joseph Diangienda (the founder of the Kimbanguist-church and son of propete Simon Kimbangu) in the videoclip. So he went to ask for forgiveness in Nkamba. The song was apperently sung the way it was written. It has been said that Wemba removed a almost the whole song and only singing therefrain that he wants to die because that world don't love him, etc. Since that the orginal version sounded to religious. During the times as Nouvelle Ecriture-member his collegues and Wemba himself were calling him "l'Evangelist", since that preaching and praying alot with some musicians mocking him behind his back.
Sourire des Vendeurs is about a girl who is disappointed in her boyfriend, after discovering that he was cheating her with other girls saying that he has a smile of seller.
Surprise Kapangala is about a guy who says that he didn't knew that the world is world of surprises. Because there are people who wants that his friends/relatives become his enemies, setting traps in his life and wanting his life being destroyed. But that god will make grudge against him end one day. It has been said that a part of the song which wsa dedicated to god was removed. The song was sold to Kapangala which made them modify the song a little to praise, which messed the song up in my opinion. Back in the days during the time after the split, people were saying that that song was about JB Mpiana and some other members of Wenge who were gossiping about him to other peoples.
In 2004 he released the song Doleance which was credited on his name in the Anti-Terro album. With him being vote as revelation of the year and second best singer of the year. Rumors were spread in Kinshasa that the song was supossed to be sung by JB himself and credited on his name and that Bogus wrote this song for him about the split with his ex'wife Amida but he was afraid to be mocked be people, so he made Bogus is that song.
People say that he worte some songs for JB Mpiana's album Chemin de Fer. But i'm afraid that we will never discover those songs. Many ex'members of Wenge BCBG (Alba Accompagnero, Kisindjora, Alain Mpela, etc.) say that the songs on Chemin de Fer are far better than those of T.H. and Feux de l'Amour. I remember Kisindora doing a interview and regretting about JB being down and still not having released Chemin de Fer.
