What was the deal with Les Quatro De Langa Langa and how did it relate to viva la Musica and Anti Choc?

It was an alumni/reunion group for past Zaiko founders - Wemba, Evoloko, Gina wa Gina, Benz Boziana, then later the great Pepe Felly. 

They released 2 albums -
Grand Job (1999)
Le Quattro +1 (2000)

Alot of people don't know that Papa Wemba came with that idea forming Les Quatro with his ex'collegues of Zaiko Langa Langa and recording albums with them. The thing what I liked from Vieux Bokul was that despite his fame he was still teaming up with his friends Evoloko & Gina who didn't had the succes anymore they had. Wemba's love for his ex'collegues and Zaiko was very big. In 1979 he cancelled his tour in Bas-Zaire to be present at Zaiko's 10th Anniversary at Palais du Peuple, which made his tour-promoter very angry and he made also a big car-accident after that but still came. In the 80's he made a reunion album with Bimi Ombale & Nyoka Longo, in 1990 he recorded an album with Mavuela Somo (who send Mbuta Mashakado to fire him from Yoka Lokole), in 1984 he recorded album with Lita Bembo (Wemba used to be a member of Stuka before joining Zaiko), Esperent &  Bozi Boziana and he participated in various reunion-concerts of Les Quatro and Zaiko in the 80's & 90's.

Les Quatro had to record 2 albums more, but problems of Gina with JPS, made them cut the contract with JPS Production. It's always Gina who comes with problems. I remember the big 40th anniversary of Zaiko in Kinshasa being cancelled because of him.

My favorite album of them is Les Quatro+1. That album deserved a better reception, but everybody was busy with JB, Werra, Koffi and Papa Wemba's solo career with then mostly people off the Mujagi-generation focusing on that album. Wemba made 2 beautifel songs in that album, Complice and Penitence Na Nga (which he remixed in 2005 with Olivier Tshimanga).

Thanks... Papa Wemba was not a primadonna in these reunions

This is the part that I liked about Papa Wemba. He had genuine love for his colleagues. He always wanted to have reunions with people from Zaiko Langa Langa and his own band Viva La Musica.

Case in point in 2008, he got his ex-VL members Luciana Demingongo and Reddy Amisi on the song "Libongo"

When you accomplish as much as Papa Wemba had, I suppose you'll never see your musical companions as rivals but like little brothers trying to follow your footsteps of greatness.

Who would believe back in 2014 that they would mourn Papa Wemba in that way ? People started to esteam Papa Wemba alot when he started his international career in 1986 and he became like a examplary dad when Wenge Musica confirmed their succes with Kin E Bouge with every one who wanted to start a music-career or looking for fame asking for advice to Papa Wemba. But Wemba lost alot of esteam after the split of Wenge and when he started to react to Koffi's provocation. Things really went down after 2003 with that documentary BBC made, the press-conference where he said that Emeneya's ex'wife used to be his girlfriend, when he started to praise Kabila which disgusted alot of people in the Congolese diaspora and Emeneya death.
