I'm already seeing Lola over-exaggerating his voice in the begining. Idk how he lasted in QL that long frankly, maybe it was symbolic to have him since his father (RIP) passed not to long before.

Does Koffi still use that house he had in Bandalungwa or did he sold it ? Didn't see that house anymore after this videotape, after having seen it in V12, Koweit Rive Gauche and those interviews and videoclips made in 80's in that house.

That's true what Koffi said. JB & Werrason saying that they a correcting the shows at Bercy, Olympia & Zenith. No there was no French media who talked about their shows,only Congolese journalists Zacharie Bababaswe & Serge Kayembe, while when Koffi performed at Olympia, Zenith & Bercy all French media's were following him, inviting him for interviews and making reportages about him. The crazy thing is that none of those media promoted his shows, but he filled those halls without their help. I regret about Parc des Princes, f*ck those stupid stadiumowners and everytime giving other reasons so that that event couldn't not be held. Bouro Mpela admitting that he regretted that he wasn't there at Bercy, but Sam Tshintu still until this day denieying it and saying that he didn't follow Quartier Latin anymore after his depature, but could he still react against them on those polemic-video.

Alot of people don't now that it was planned to be a double event a Zenith. Two concerts at Zenith on the 14th & 15th July, but something went wrong which made the other day being cancelled. With Werrason taking it over a starting to promote his double Zenith event after the release of Kibuisa Mpimpa, while before Kibuisa he was talking about a Triple Zenith event to equal the attendence of Bercy (3x6.000=18.000). I think that he wasn't sure that he could fill Zenith 3 days in row, which made switch to 2 days. I remember him then saying that he was dreaming of receving 2 gold records at Zenith. The gold record of Solola Bien on day 1 and that of Kibuisa Mpimpa on day 2. I remember the press claming that Kibuisa Mpimpa became gold in 1 month and that it was on his way to become a platina disc. But till this day we never saw it.

one of the advantages koffi always had on other artists is contacts,fally is following the same route they knew how to go from one contact get 3 from that one then 5 of those three....While most congolese artists are more interested on making an impact and thats it
like wazekwa once joked long before he played at olympia,if its only filling halls which matters that much then why musicians bother themselves to bring instruments they could just stand and contemplate the "plein na plein" and go home lol

I really enjoyed  watch this video especially when they asked koffi questions. I didnt know Patricia Champagne at all, were she in any video clips or concert?
I’m still sad that mamale & blanchard (i didn’t knew he was in ql around this time) wasn’t in effrakata & also sarbatino, i would like to know what he worth.
Michaux chamberton along with deo brando are ones of the most underated ql singer ( both of them was in anti choc ironically).
Shame how champion used to be the solid ql soldier who defends his boss & critics the ones who left and the ones who have beefs with koffi but he ran away because cambodge played 2 generics hahaha (can someone can confirms, if rhumbas & other seben were played by champion or titina).

Now I wonder if ql alumnis from this era are still close today. I know fally still in good terms with modogo & montana, he also bring passe kosse & brigade on stage recently. Bouro still in terms with his academia colleagues & jordan kusa who he met when they were with duc herode.

A friend said to me that Champion wasn’t happy that Titina Al Capkne feeling that Koffi wanted to force him out having since thet he brought Ile de Cambodge.But I remember that the press states that he was angry the way Koffi let Ile Cambodge play the two generics and the important songs.

Effrakata was played by Champion & Ile de Cambodge. Titina came when the album was already finished, having already some the mixing, etc. But Koffi wanted to see what his capacities were so they let him play all the sebenes to see the difference with Cambodge & Champion. His performance was amazing which made Koffi give him the nickname “Grand Cadre”. Shortly after that Champion left which made Koffi put Titina’s name on the credits instead of Champion. Champion just played Bilan, Ravisse & Washington with the rest done by Cambodge.A little bit respect for Freddy. Champion didn’t ran away he was just fed up with the things Koffi was doing to him. Because already in Kinshasa he started to demote him. He started first by giving the Chef d’Orchestre role to Felly Tyson.

I understand how Champion felt, I would have been angry if I got 3 out of 16 songs to play drums. However, there is some justice to this story because as soon as Titina arrived then Cambodge Motul got little space before leaving. Those drum rolls on Bilan are some of his finest moments!

Rocky Blanchard was unwise, why would he join Zaiko (of ALL  bands) and expect to return to good standing with Koffi? Granted, he is better than Binda but after Clovis left then Binda really stepped up as bassist and Koffi rewarded him with a secured position.

I agree! To this day, there are some opening tracks that give me goosebumps because of how creative they are and the production is very good that it has lasted the test of time.

Today, those same artists are too comfortable, they don't have that same hunger anymore and there isn't any band to challange them musicially.

I dont know if at this instant time (may 2001) they knew how much they’re bout to f*ck up the game. You feel the hunger from track 1 to 16, you feel they wanted to show that « they are the best » in terms of quality of album, of image, of team members so the 4 koras we’re just deserved. I wrote in a other post the 1st time I heard generation bercy, in Christmas 2001 i was like « DAMN ITS FEELS GOOD TO BE CONGOLESE RIGHT NOW », effrakata was so powerful man, the « on fracasse tout » slogan means everything.
I rarely had that feeling of feeling goosebumps when i hear new albums but I think effrakata was the 1st time (next was affair d’etat) , one of the few times in congolese music & surely the one of the best times.

I love at 46:53 when he's shaking all the members hands when they're coming in and all the kids are screaming especially when it's bouro, mamale, Montana, and fally they were clearly fan favourites and looool when they say deo "ehh ezalaki epa nyoka longo" kiekiekie I remember seeing this after it came out and that was my first time seeing deo in QL not knowing he left zaiko..... you could see they were a family especially when they're asking koffi questions I miss these days

hahaha speaking of Lola archos,mvulusi can y'all tell me why he left Quartier Latin in June 2003 ? Was it really because of the song Silivi ? I heard he wrote the song.
