I don't know what kind of honour you can feel when you become paralyzed because you fought for white people.
I mean, I will never understand people fighting for a country who isn't theirs and his story (Kevin) make me cry.
Basically he was a French soldier who fought in Afghanistan/Iraq and unfortunately got shot and he didn't died but stayed paralyzed forever, Emeeneya  father was so much suffering for his situation, it is so sad if you think about it

Please, An honour to be visited by the president. The president took time and thought for a black man who fought for his country and got paralysed in the process.

You're actually mad... I'd feel very honoured if my president acknowledged me  let alone visit me

 Nice one,like mentioned above kevin put his life on the line for france,he deserves respect and support from french authorities

I am very sorry for him, and I hate the fact he fought for France, and that he fought in general, he could have done so many things, and then Macron is the same guy who gave the permission to let a Nigerian pregnant woman  to die because she didn't have documents.

I feel for you Kevin, I also have an uncle killed in Somalia during a peacekeeping mission with the African Union forces. It's not easy being a soldier mostly you're just a pawn in a grand scheme.

Macron could've been doing many things than meeting a wounded soldier, African or not.  The fact of the matter is, Kevin knew what he signed up for when he enlisted; he knew the risks and he has his reasons as to why did it.  It takes an act of bravery for any man or woman to sign the dotted line to be willing to die for their country, whether they were born there or not.  Him meeting the President (whom i respect way more than Trump by the way), could've been a moment that made it all worth it for him.  I don't like wars, and the invasion of Iraq was merely a pissing contest, but regardless of my thoughts on war, I would NEVER minimize a soldier's service.

I didn't minimized it, I mean only him knows how life must be for him now, what I am saying is that I find it sad that he is in this situation for a petroleum war

^ There are times where you just have to accept things for face value and not stress ourselves (and others) by reading too much into it... you don’t know for certain how patriotic Kevin felt before or after serving. Like @Tata Nkiadi said, one does not just wake and join the military or are forced... they have to sign many dotted lines and really prove that they want to serve.

Soldiers are indeed pawns in grand scheme of things, but soldiers like Kevin are decorated for life for the sacrifices they made to save others. Every country has a military and some citizens of those countries join and serve, no matter what skin color.

His story is a very touching one. And I also felt for his dad too.

I feel sorry for the kid.

But as @Manzambi said, catching a bullet while fighting for Nato in Afghanistan is not the most "clever" thing a Congolese can do, even though he's a frenchman.

I don't blame him, but his life was (almost) destroyed for nothing. The war in Afghanistan is pointless.
