Ramazani is an excellent solist. It’s a shame that he didn’t get engouh space to show his talents like in Viva La Musica, the same for Titina Al Capone who was the best drummer ever when he was in Wenge BCBG and Wenge 4x4, but had to stuck to the style which Champion put in Quartier Latin. While in the previous bands he was creating alot of new breaks which drummers like Champion, Ramatoulaye, etc. took over. The Champion was seen as Titina copycat.

Love this concert, particularly when Koffi hand Kero the micro to sing that part of Gros BB, also Bouro mucking about with that faux Arabic . Haha, the white folks in attendance know how to dance

Do you guys think Ramazani is better than Felly?

Yeah, far and far better. Felly is a little bit limited. But Ramazani knows to play all genre. Knows how to play music of Tabu Ley, Tangu ya ba Wendo and those the Young. He also arrange songs. Ramazani used to work at Studio Bobongo if I remember well and also played for Choc Stars before joining Viva La Musica. He also participated to Reddy’s concerts in Kinshasa and even played on his album Etoile. It’s not for nothing that Wemba was loving him alot and let him give the artistic direction of Nouvelle Ecriture. It’s now for nothing that Wemba kept inviting him on albums and him being invited to play for various artists and arranging their albums.


 Ramazani just joined Quartier Latin because he hadn’t a choice, after being fed up of Bendoson’s egoïsm in their own created rebellionband. Quartier Latin is not a band like Viva La Musica or the two Wenge’s were they give you the artistic freedom. In Quartier Latin you have to follow Koffi’s ideas and vision with you artist adding a little thing. Even songs are arranged by Koffi.
