Very true, the magie album does sound a bit muffled compared to v12 and Papa Plus... One question I have is why did Koffi record different versions of songs and release them on the clips.. If you listen to watch the video for Papa Plus some of the wording and instrumentation is different.

I felt like Mazungidi Jean Louis wasted his time in the studio with having one crie.

I think the fact that magie have a poor sound quality give the « charm » of the album. A kind of singularity.
If koffi release a reissue of the album with a better quality, i wouldn like it

I'm certain he contributed more in terms of animations, but Koffi was very much inspired by Wenge and the success they were having with Roberto Ekokota animating solo. That's why Bivens often performed the cries alone.

Same thing happened with Quartier Latin during the recording of Attentat; Koffi was inspired by the solo atalaku Wenge had with Tutu Calugi for Titanic which is why CNN did all the animations alone despite Ocean Mbala being apart of the group.

My favourite Quartier Latin album. That album was a massive success everywhere. For me Koffi & Quartier Latin relly step their game up with Magie (with electrical guitar, Beevans animation it was a good decision to let him animate alone Mazungidi would not in the sebenes of Magie).                       It's crazy that Koffi didn't let Sam have a vocal in that album while he let him put his song "Shambouyi".
What was your reaction the first time you guys heard that album ?

@masatomo It was filmed in France. I think the name of the bar they filmed in France is L'Alize club or something like that If I'm wrong.

I know I'm late as hell but I did a research. I found it that Chou Lay Evoloko happened to be on that album instead of Sam Tshintu. I don't know. He also appeared on Noblesse Oblige Live in Angebi 1993. Please take it look of any video of Chou Lay Evoloko Vocals on YouTube and you’ll hear the same voice. He also sang for Wenge Musica Maison Mere short time. Sad thing is that he never mention about this album at all various interviews.

Wait really? Chou Lay is the one that did the vocals? How did you find this out no one ever mentioned it. I wonder where that rumour came that it was Sam doing those vocals even though he actually can do that voice also
