I still ask, what happened to Rolly Mayemba Nguanzu and the album he was working on? Did he ever release that album or even one song from the same? The man was a very gifted singer

I think that that was also one if the reason which demotivated him to promote them. They missed something. With Koffi trying to lure  important musicians of Maison Mere & Wazekwa. But he couldn’t find a Fally in them. Back in 1999, Koffi was by Sam & Bouro’s departure, but Fally made him forget both guys quickly. Because of his work-ethic (which Sam had)and dancing skills (which made Koffi forget Bouro). Then in 2006 and 2007 he hoped to find someone like him, but it didn’t happen.

Quartier Latin was composed of artists who already had a taste for working in a professional group before Koffi incorperated them into his orchestra. Fally Ipupa released an album with Talent Latent back in 1997 while Sam already was making a name for himself with Flash Musica.

that's not really true. They had all a strong foundation. Zoe Bella for example, who came from Victoria Eleison and who did already sung on albums like Mboka Mboka, Longue Histoire, made tours in Africa and even co-leaded a band with Sampaio and Guy Moller called Dream Team Dream Band. You had also Pitshou who came of Wenge Tonya Tonya where he had some vocals on Affaire Tonya Tonya. Nguanzu who came from Ahmed Jaan (the guy who was singing excatly like Koffi). They all came from good street bands like the generation of 1999 and that of Suzuki. It was just that there was a "jocker" missing to make the group complete. He didn't had the luck he had in 1999 when Fally came, which made him immediatly forget Bouro Mpela and Sam Tshintu. If Fally didn't came to Quartier Latin then Koffi would still have been nervous, like he would be in 2007. He has been nervous about that 8 years long.


Flash Musica was not a professional band. People are giving that band now credits because alot of future stars came from that band (Rocky Blanchard, Modogo, Suzuki, Lebou, Willy Bula,Sam Tshintu, Sunda Bass, Ngidingongi, etc.). But nobody knew them back in the 80's/90's, only people who came from Binza. It's like Promise Musica in Matonge which had talented artists like Pathy Bass, Mboshi Lipassa, Marcahouse, Polystar Corean, etc. or Lemba Musica with Bogus Bompema, Binda Bass, Bourman Idolo,... Royaume Lifaki with Mamale Tupac, Bouro Mpela... Eden Musica.. Yoka Choc with Manda Chante, Babia Ndonga, Celezino… IBG of Jus d'Ete Mulopwe, Ladins Montana, Titina Al Capone,.... Attraction Babylone with  Patient Kusangila, Ali Mbonda. All those bands were only know in their area. The same with Fally's Talent Latent. People are respecting Talent Latent now, but back in the days people didn't know anything about that band only people coming from Bandalungwa. People just noticed this band 5/4 years ago when the album appeared on the digital platforms.

Actually he was tempted to give joss who fitted the most  the attributes of fally a chance but he kept taking a step back he was always telling jpk,bouboul and co what if i give him a chance and he goes solo like fally since joss only need that to be fair a little extra promotion to what he had in cultura to really reach that level of a  potential solo leader  and when he fell in love with cindy's voice and later.... kiekiekie... he said ok enough with men at least she wont grow desire to go solo like them and wont hurt me like them

yeah, he was giving Joss Diena alot of advantages when Montana left. But before releasing B.E.K. he suddenly changed that strategy and then gave that power to Cindy from the day they performed at Grand Hotel to present B.E.K. The same day he gave Cindy's dad a jeep.


Lol, Koffi said in an interview with Marc Tabu "ba tonton ya poto na ba yaya botikela nga nanu temps naye" if i remember it well. From that day I understanded that she became Mopao's new...… hahahaha. The same year he went to marry journalist Judith 'aka' Magic Wawina with all media of Congo, Africa and it's diaspora talking about that. I wonder what Aliane was thinking about that. Then the press reported the following year that he traditional married Cindy, but that news went quickly quite. I think that they fired the journalist who brought that news...
