We were unlucky to have Papa Wemba, Koffi Olomide, JB Mpiana & Werrason as leaders. Their plan was just to get some 10.000/20.000/30.000 dollars each 3 months from politicians. While the project of Maïsha Parc was that the gouvernement would protect the artists of DRC against piracy in Kinshasa and the rest of the country, building ultra-modern studios in Kinshasa and that radio, tv-channels and bars would finally pay those copyrights. If that happened they would live like kings and wouldn’t be forced to live on matolo, etc. Imagine all those radio and tv-channels of Kinshasa, Matadi, Lubumbashi, Goma, Bukavu paying those copyrights with also all bars from Banana till Kasumbalesa. Then they would make alot of money, I think 10 times more than all the money earn from SACEM & SABAM. Even little artists would have beneficied from it.

The beef between Koffi & Werra made people label Werrason as faux chanteur when Koffi came with that Encadreur vs Formateur-concept. But they were blind, because himself was/is also a faux chanteur. This interview made Werrason record that concert/interview with “his” journalist Jacky Ndala to prove Koffi and people who believed him a point by playing all instruments (bass, drum, conga’s, lead-guitar, rhythm) because  of Koffi saying that he’ss a true musicians because of playing guitar, arranging songs, while some “Werrason” are not musicians but simple a singer and couldn’t work without a help from someone in the studio and don’t touch instruments. But that interview-concert with Jacky Ndala didn’t change peoples opinion.
