This song was released in 1994 and I was listening to it 8 times and I really have to say that it has a good rhythm but at it has a sad meaning it shows the struggles of Africa and how people could be harsh. The composer who wrote the song is Rigidan Mavoungou he never got a chance to go to Europe and he sadly passed away in 1997 during the wars but his friend Rapha Boundzeki luckily went to Europe loads of time even Papy Bastin who sung on this sonf waited a long time until he joined Extra Musica in 1999.



Another song by Rigidan at the beginning he's asking his record producer Max Tounde to bring him to Paris but it never happened.

It has nothing to do with struggels. It was because of the sapeurs who were returning to their country, who  made them dream to go to Europe. The same thing happened in Zaïre from 1980 when Papa Wemba kind of hyponitized the young generation by letting them think that Europe is an Paradiso while it isn’t with every wanting to go to Europe since 1980. Back in 60s & 70s people were also dreaming about Europe but not to live there. The smal amount of people who lived there then were students and they didn’t like Europe, they all wanted to return. Back in those days it was very hard to see a black man on the streets and you didn’t had fufu or other African food. In those days Congolese people had a good reputation and people were liking, thinking that would be the new Generation who will rule over Zaïre like those who came in the 60s (Sakombi, etc.). After 1980 the reputation of them got ruïned because of Stervos Niarcos and his friends and “Bana N’djili” who went to steal clohtes. Just for that Sape-religion with some sending it to Kinshasa. With those people living in Kinshasa thinking that they were rich and them giving some some false stories to those in Kinshasa. While they were struggeling hard in Europe with the most not having a job and starting to become bodyguards or some selling drugs.

Sometimes, but in the most cases in and his friends went deeply in the night to do some burglaries, coming back with 80 leather jackets, alot of shoes or other things. If a band like Victoria Eleison or Viva La Musica came for a tour in Europe then those stores wouldn't be safe lol. Didn't you know the sapeurs of that era didn't had clean hands ? Most sapeurs were drugdealers, thiefs, other doing fraud, etc. Some of those old sapeurs and people known for mabanga are also praud to say that on the tv or youtube-videos. Btw the way alot of Stervos's friends were dangerous criminals, the most were killed in 1974 in the Stade de 20 Mai-stadium by Mobutu's soldiers before the Ali-Foreman fight, because Kinshasa was then unsafe in those days. They were like kuluna's, so to finsh that phenomenon and to be sure that tourists would be safe, Mobutu ordered to kill them all. Stervos was then lucky to be in Brazza otherwise he could have been killed to.
Congolese people living in Europe who didn't like that sape-stuff found it always strange how those sapeurs were received like in kings in Kinshasa by the population and the press and always getting honoroued by musicians while they were known as big thiefs and/or drugdealers. Today alot of sapeurs become gay to get those clothes for free, they will date then those old rich men or those who work for those clothing companies to get those clothes or some go to Turkey, China or Maroc to make fake clothes. In Instabul you have alot of Turkish people who talk Lingala now. It's often funny to see how they try to convice Congolese people to buy a Yohji Yamamoto by saying "JB mutu alataki yango" lol.

After that Stervos tried to send people to reconcile with Wemba, but Wemba refused which made the concerts they had to give with him, Bozi and Emeneya in Brazzaville, Pointe Noire, Matadi and Boma being cancelled. Wemba returned to Paris and send Niarcos's rival Modogo to diss him very hard. After they went to record Place Vendome where they attacked Niarcos very strong.

Ah that's bad even cancelling those concerts money gone to waste one thing I learnt about him was that he really liked his best friend Kula Mambo.

If I remember well they just attacked Niarcos the way wasn't able to do the things in Kinshasa how he planned it, when he came therefor la sape-stuffs and concerts and also about his girlfriend (Modogo and Niarcos had a beefing because that girl), also saying that he wasn't able to buy for her jewels, etc. (Back in those days you hadn't alot of girls in Paris like now with the most being in Paris already being married). Modogo also started to praise himself trought Reddy, singing that everybody in Paris knew what he did, etc., etc.

Place Vendome ekotikala ya ba mindele (Place Vendome will stay for the whites). Place Vendome is just a normal square in Paris. Alot of tourists don't even know about it, but when Modogo, Wemba & Viva La Musica released the Place Vendome-disc, alot of Congolese people wanted to know where Place Vendome is lol. The French governement has to pay Congolese artists how they made their culture, artists, musichalls, clothes, streets, squares and quarters known hahahaha.

When Bozi, Wemba, Emeneya & Niarcos performed at Palais du Peuple,the next day they were invited by Manda Tchebwa. With them on some point having to show their clothes. With Manda asking Niarcos what the price of his clothes were and him replying that it was to expensive and it could buy 3 houses in Masina (a way to diss his rival Thythy Le Vallois who came from Masina and named himself 'La Pape de la Sape'. Alot of people coming from areas like Masina, Kimbanseke, Bumbu and Selembao are ashamed to say that.) Then Manda Tchewba started to ask about the brands Bozi, Wemba & Emeneya wore and Niarcos started to humilate them one by one. Saying that the clothes Bozi wore are those which they sell on the streetmarkets. Then on Wemba's turn he said that his clothes are old but okay. Some minutes later Manda asked him if Wemba was a sapeur and Niarcos replying by no, saying that he was just their representative. Also adding that they gave him their old clothes if he's in Europe, to represent them in Kinshasa. This all made Wemba furious. But it was a little bit true, because back in those days musicians didn't have money to buy those expensive clothes in Paris, it were always those sapeurs who were giving them those clothes for free with those musicians singing songs for them as gratefullness or giving shoutouts, that's also the way how that mabanga-phenomenon started. Also  when those musicians came, they were always humilating them by letting them do the dishes in their house. That's also why some couldn't accept it that they became rich in the late/mid 90s and that their recruited musicians started to make their daugthers pregnant, with them taking revange with the combattans-movement.

He probably killed himself because he was facing a long sentence. If memory serves me correctly, he was convicted of drug trafficking among his woes of Wemba and others

The success didn't go to his head. Niarcos was true yankee, they always deal in that way. Ignoring people, not saluating people even if they knew them or talked 2 minutes ago, humilating "ba yuma" in public, etc. King Kester Emeneya & Djuna Djanana copied alot of things from him, also terms like "taureaux", etc. He forgot just that they were live on tv with Manda interviewing them. Back in 1986, he humilated Emeneya also in public during a concert in Paris. Emeneya had then to kneel down in front of the public.
