Koffi Olomide wanted to do things diffrently then other bands and introduced it in the early 90s by calling it then Quartier Latin Entreprise. Starting then to pay his musicians every month which is rare in other bands who can do sometimes 2 or 3 years witouth paying their musicians.

Those who were living in DR Congo were very lucky, because the concert at Olympia was broadcasted live on TV and the radio. But back in those days only people who were rich had a tv at home. The video of their concert at Olympia was never released, because the contract wasn't respected which is very sad since that he's the first black african artist to perform there. They had also to cancel their tour and all the musicians were thrown out their hotelrooms, but that all got covered by the way they received in Kinshasa with a huge crowd and Mobutu with also a big national tour following. But Tabu Ley would get alot of problems after it. He wasn't paid for the series of concerts he had performed at Olympia since that the contract wasn't respected and the tour cancelled, this well he borrowed alot of money from donors, fans, businessmen, etc. who gave him that money to prepare his concerts at Olympia and then also his sidechicks wanting to see money for their children and thinking that he became rich,etc. Tabu Ley didn't knew what to do and was even thinking about suicide with him on the end ending up in jail because of not being able to pay his debts. He couldn't also ask to help to his mates of the Congolesearmy (guys like Denis Ilosono, etc.), because Mobutu gave all those generals and colonels who helped him with the coup in 1965 early retirement since that he feared them. It was a big humilation for him and the presidents (Ngouabi of Congo Brazzaville, Idi Amin Dada of Uganda, Senghor of Senegal, Ahidjo of Cameroon, Bokassa of Central Africa and Tombalbaye of Tchad) who praised him for his show at Olympia, said that he was a disgrace for the continent and that they have to send Tabu Ley them put him in jail in their country.

In 1973 they recorded a fake disc of Tabu Ley live at Olympia. But in 1997 the original disc got finally released, but that were only few songs he performed that day. Tabu Ley's concert at Olympia was the longest concert ever done there, he performed there 6 hours non-stop which was seen as a record. I don't if someone did it longer there then him.

Back in those days they didn't care about recording videos who were then broadcasted live. It started during the 80s. But i'm sure that one of Bruno Coquatrix's children saved the video. Because white peoples know how to conserve important things and Bruno came to Kinshasa to visit Tabu Ley and watch him performing. But I don't believe they will ever release it otherwise they would have done it already in the 90s, like they did with the cd.  Back in those days it was very very difficult to get a contract to perform at Olympia and in the most cases artists were invited by Bruno Coquatrix himself. It became easy from the 90s.

in Europe, who were all his people giving them gifts ?

the fans, i remember on the zenith olympia tour genta came back with loads of gift and around 25000 dollars of mabanga money and money as gift and went straight away to buy that house for his parents
tours happened to be quite lucrative until 2009,i remember lobeso going back to kin with a bmw X5 just with mabanga on concerts and gifts
