What made Gospel music be terrible? back in the 90s, it had more seriousness.

i guess its the collateral effects of "development", in this century and last stages of the previous one there is a "bling bling" spirit which has developped a lot,and especially in music,instead of artists just letting their inspiration flow and hopefully earn something,we have now some semi-robots obsessed with fame and extravagance
for example in kin now some of those guys plus the new generation when you tell people you are not recognizing true gospel in the current so called gospel music they'll tell you behave,he has a hummer two rolls, a private jet and bla bla bla while they have by far the most spiritual role in music so the focus should be on spiritual matter not on how they look,what they possess

And I thought Congolese gospel singers were more modest and humble than secular artists. This reminds me of those hyopcritical evangelists who only preach for money.

A lot of gospel artist are failed secular musicans, so they exploit the church for some form of fame they couldn't get elsewhere. Even here in the US, the church is exploited for profit.

It used to be that this type of music for the other world and the ungodly people but look at what they're doing now. Gone are the days of the Matou Samuel slow gospel music. The sebene part they have down already, I'm just waiitng fpr someone to do a proper rhumba like how Olivier Kalabasi has done. When I lsietn to gospel sebene I don't dance like how I would secular music, I know it's the music of the creator who have the dancing ability but I still am conserved with that, I just dance in my head lol or just nod my head or tap my foot.

Take out the few Jesus references then this basically a secular song.

@archos, Congolese Gospel Sebenes are waaay better, trust me. In Kenya, the "gospel" music we have is just plain secular music hidden by the fact that it gets played on Sundays

But on a lighter note @Shamala, this was actually an EXCELLENT song in my opinion. The original Solo partition was played by Christian Solo "AirBag" (Ex-WMMM) and the Bass by Cedric Beton (an exceptionally gifted bassist).
