What happened to Serge Mabiala? After Kibusia Mpimpa, he was limited to a few vocals for A La Queue Leu Leu despite him being present for much of the album's recording and promotion.





When did he leave Masion Mere and why? I'm guessing he still no longer a member when the group recorded Tindika Lokito, because a bunch of new singers were recruited.

Serge Mabiala was a marked man in Kinshasa.. He was involved in a car accident which resulted in death and the family of victim vowed to kill him, so he decided to flee and settle in Europe.

According to Serge Mabiala, the musicians of WMM and people close to Werrason, Serge had a "pire petit" living in his house like many other musicians, but he didn't knew that he was suffering from epilepsy. So one day that guy had an epileptic seizure and died. The family of that guy was furious and claimed that Serge Mabiala sacrified him for satanic reasons and he was arrested by the police. He was in prison for several weeks. But he was lucky that Werrason made an intervention and arrived the same day of the Double Zenith-event. He participated to the tour, but wasn't also happy the way Werrason paying him and left Maison Mere for some weeks along with Japonais & Adjani, but then returned like the other two and participated to the A La Que Leu Leu and put his song Jugement Dernier while Japonais & Adjani were punished. Then Werrason tried to do everything to convince him to return to Kinshasa and said that he protect him, etc. But Serge Mabiala was scared and didn't want to return back.



Back in 2001, Serge also decided to stay behind in Europe but Werra's staff convinced him to return to Kinshasa. With Japonais, Adjani & Flamme Kapaya who weren't happy also following days later after being convinced and promised many things which they wouldn't receive lol. At the end of the tour Werrason had to pay Wenge Maison Mere the money of the tour, Kibuisa and Bercy, but he said that he prefered to buy 3 buses for the football-teams Vita, Imana & Bilima. It pissed almost the whole band off. Flamme Kapaya, Japonais & Celeo were then unlucky that those new-jacks gangs went to rob all their clothes and gifts from fans out their place before going back to Kinshasa.

The sins done by Werra in his career though!! WMM is a jungle and Werra got it right, he has been the leader of that jungle.A jungle where others feed on others. I could see how the members behaved when they performed in Nairobi. They showed lack of civility, you could only see people eager to pay themselves on stage.

It seems like Werrason had no respect for anyone in Masion Mere unless you were Bill Clinton Kalonji, Ferre Gola, or Heritier.

Who was your least liked member of Masion Mere? Lol

That's not true. Bill Clinton Kalonji and Ferre Gola were working hard for Maison Mere but they were also getting nothing. Werrason was like those 2nd and 3th generation leaders who weren't also paying their own musicians. I don't know why keeping hate Werrason so hard for that, but legends like Tabu Ley, Papa Wemba and King Kester Emeneya were worser.


Number one Sankara de Nkuta, because of the way betrayed Adolphe Dominguez, but I was meeting him often in Paris since that we are kind of related. I didn't like him anymore when he insulted Ferre Gola's mother during an interview in Paris, when JDT, Ferre & Bill were about to create Les Marquis. Then I started really to hate him when he started to diss Koffi Olomide very strong and former Maison Mere-members. I will never forget how he claimed that Celeo's children are mentally deficient and everybody also believing while it wasn't true.

I used to hate Heritier so much after the creation of Les Marquis, because of his interviews attacking Ferre Gola, Celeo, Koffi Olomide, etc. I didn't like Miel de Son & Taddet, because of them having a competition with Heritier about who could scream harder, not knowing that they were messing the chorus and their own vocals up. I used also to hate Papy Kakol during the Mayi Ya Sika-era (2007-2012), alot of musicians were leaving of him and also the way he was attacking Koffi Olomide, Celeo, Ferre Gola, Fally Ipupa. But i found it funny when they sended him to attack Fally Ipupa having the same clothes he wore on the A2BM-cover, keeping reapting "Werra alakisa biso impolitesse" and then the journalist (I think Joe Bagato) having to correct him everytime hahahahaha.

Tabu Ley and Kester were worst than Werrason? Is that even possible? Outside of being greedy, he assaulted Mboka Liya during rehearsal, he used to humiliate Roi David regularly, and Werrason refused to discipline Kakol even though Papy Kakol was clearly in the wrong for attacking Brigade.

In your opinion, do you think it was better for the original Les Marquis to remain together or was it better for that to be a one off project with Ferre, Bill, & JDT?

You guys in the forum might hate Werra foh how he behaves but that is exactly how you hold power, to some extent even European leaders does it, and 99 per cenr of the music in congo is bt ex people of Wenge Maison Mere, so Werrason has some sense in what he does

If you don't believe it,  than its your problem..... Werrason is living the wrong era.  Makolin used to be years long furious about King Kester Emeneya. In the 70s and 80s they would have seen it as normal and/or not a big problem. The most greedy musician ever in the history of Congolese music is Tabu Ley. That's why people close to him gave him the nickname "Vieux Kasongo". There isn't a Congolese band like Afrisa/Africa Fiesta National who had so many splits (every two year) and people staying behind in African and European tours. The leaders of the 2nd generation were most evil (Franco, Madilu, Lutumba,..).

Papy Kakol attacking Brigade ? About assaulting musicians, Koffi Olomide is the king about that hahah ask about to people who were in his staff. Lola Muana, Gipson Butukondolo,... the list is long. He pushed Lola from stage during their concert at LSC back in 2002. Koffi was lucky that people hadn't smartphone in that era. Papa Wemba used also to be terrible back in 80's. All those bandleaders are the same, nobody is an angel.

I don't know what would be better. It was clear from the start that they would split in 1 year or 6 months. We are now in 2019 and they have all three a good life and music career. Nobody is broke or something like that and people can still remember them

I believe you, brother. I'm still learning a lot about the 2nd generation group leaders so please excuse my ignorance on the subject.

 I recently watched a documentary on Franco that discuss his selfish tendencies around the 20 minute mark and this is the same behavior we see from the subsequent generations of musicans.



Did Franco die from AIDS? I don't think anyone in his family or close circle ever confirmed the theory.
