It looks like Fula Ngenge-album was a big inspiration for solo-albums of Congolese bandleaders who were released in the early 2000s. They had all a fusion of rap, ndombolo, rumba and salsa.
The only difference of Fula Ngenge between the other solo-albums is that Papa Wemba also promoted Congolese folklore-music in m'Odikenda (tetela-foklore) while the other didn't, just having some little parts in their ndombolo songs. JB Mpiana promoting instrumentals of mongo-foklore in Sultan de Bruneil Kaskinto and kongo-folklore in Kinshasa, Werrason promoting a part of mbala-foklore in the song Kibuisa Mpimpa and Koffi Olomide promoting a part of luba-folklore in Kamutshima and also a part pende-foklore in the same Kamutshima. In the song Rubbin, Sephora et Ruth, Papa Wemba promoted a partluba-folklore towards the end.

Alot of people don't know that the rap-song O'koningana had to be a duet of Papa Wemba with French-Congolese rapper Passi. Passi was then very busy with touring and promoting the Racines-album of the Biso na Biso-collective. So he decided to record the song with Tony Sad who was then not known in that era.
