I’ve always compared TH to Kibuisa. The TH vs Solola Bien makes no sense, even though they were released months apart

Yeah, the comparision of Internet vs Kibuisa Mpimpa 1 year later was also really unfair lol. The generique of Internet almost necked his career, but JB Mpiana was lucky to have a very big fanbase, a part of the press in his pocket and spokemen like Blanchard Mosaka & Kisindjora promoting the songs very hard on tv in Kinshasa. I used to have a VHS of JB Mpiana's concert at FIKIN just some days after the release of Internet and I sold out Village Bralima. Having made a record attendence there. 

Despite the succes of TH, JB Mpiana had a hard time in Kinshasa before going to Europe, because of politicians also started to get involved in the Werra vs JB beef and people trying to start a kind of a tribal-war (Bayaka vs Baluba). I guess that JB was fed up with that and it was one of the reasons to come to tour in Europe very quick after the release of TH. I remember the Congolese press saying that JB went on exil when but denied it some weeks later, I started to believe them when his stay in Europe started to become very long (back in the days most Congolese bands didn't stay longer then 4 months abroad), but he ended up by returning in Kinshasa after 7 months staying abroad.

But on Werrason's side almost everything went fantastic with succes of Solola Bien (except Patient Kusangila's stroke in Angola, the loss against Extra Musica at Kora 2000 and Adolphe's departure). The UNESCO made him UNESCO Artist of Peace "ambassadeur de la paix", performing in a packed Bercy (after having just 3 months of advertisement in Congolese and African community in Europe and not using any western media) he was invited by the pope in Rome, performingin a packed Stade des Martyrs, having concerts with huge crowds in Kinshasa, touring in Africa, etc. He had also almost everybody's support, especially when he started his own foundation to help street children.

It was a mistake to let Ficcare play lead guitar on the majority of the album Internet; his playing style is enjoyable but hasn't been awe inspiring since Pentagone. They should of mixed and mastered the generique they recorded with Bic Rouge. The guys later work speaks for his energetic approach to sebenes

for me ficarre is much more dangerous on mi solo,he is a very good soloist too(although in the past he used to piss me off with suspect effects on his guitar,which would end up being inaudible,dominated by rhythm) but he gave too much of his best in 4X4,No wonder he has always become number 2 whenever there has a been a serious challenger(moleso,burkina,patou solo and now tolbert)

I don't think that it was a mistake to let Fi-Carre play the lead guitar on the majority of the album Internet. All the sebenes in Internet were excellent, except the generique. About Fi-Carre not being inspiring since Pentagone that isn't true he made alot of excellent sebenes after Pentgone. Go to listen Tour Eiffel, Walay Danico, Kinshasa and Masuwa. He wasn't playing alot anymore because Japonais became the main lead-guitarist of Wenge 4x4 when Burkina Faso decided to leave, after that Burkina Faso became the lead guitarist until his departure in 2000.




I think that the succes of TH made them not have a real pressure, also the problem of the generique Internet was that to much transitions, they would make the same mistake in the generique of Anti Terro. The short-version of the Internet generique at concert without those tranistions was very danceble (having that "muana mobali asuakana te"-cri at the end"). There was a audio-version of it on youtube, but I can't find it anymore.

The generique they recorded was with Bic Rouge was in 2002. Bic Rouge was a member of Wenge Kumbela in 2001 and joined les PPU in 2002 when he decided to stay after the little tour in Europe with Aime Buanga. The sebenes Bic Rouge played are exactly the same Fi-Carre played in 2000, 2001 and 2002.
