Isifi is the abbreviation of "Institut du Savoir Ideologique pour la Formation des Idoles". Its only Papa Wemba who really made stars after forming his own band and a little bit Bozi. Evoloko was the opposite of Wemba, he was letting his singers and guys who came for a test. He let some singers do tests in toilettes, letting them do the dishes and other weird things.

Also he's the only artist who was able to have a song 1 year long in the charts which never happened again in Zaire (Fievre Mondo). He brought Langa Langa Stars to Brazil. It smees that you didn't witness his succes.

He was very popular in Zaire at the time (Smh). Anyway, a lot of people did love his voice for some reason including my own father. Yes Papa Wemba sort of copied his voice but as I said, Papa Wemba was working hard. True he did dirty shit to Evoloko but at the end, Evoloko is at fault at his own pitfull. What is worse for Evoloko was that he could finished Papa Wemba with Langa Langa Stars if he actually took time to find great talent because Papa Wemba was beginning to fall in the early 1980s but thanks to Evoloko's blunders, Papa Wemba managed to remain somewhat strong in the Clan Zaiko age.

Evoloko  recruited talented artists in 1985. Guys like Mozin Mozindo, Dick Le Roy, Mazeya Leya, Koko Anana, Bibisha Mukuna (RIP), Cele Mbonda, etc. and they had a promising start with the new dance Swing Swing. But the problem was that Verckys cutted their contract when a sidechick gave him instruments as gift with a strong embargo starting against him in Kinshasa plus from 1986 he started to stay more in Europe and his succes was slowly slowing down and then also a new problem starting about a general being furious that he slept his daughter, so he went on exil and settled his band in Europe. He had some huge succes with Mbonge Mbonge which made him tour in Latin America and many countries in Europe and also the Mingelina B 52-album which was well received. Private problems made him losing interests in music.

Papa Wemba was actually finished in 1981 when they created Langa Langa Stars. Papa Wemba went Viva La Musica for 6 months in Kinshasa, because he didn't know what to do. With his staff then creating a story that he died in Europe and his return creating a huge buzz. But he was still not paying his musicians which made Emeneya, Huits Kilo, Tofla Kitoko and co ('aka the 12 Apostles) creating Victoria Eleison which finished Wemba again.

Wemba was profiting from the succes of Lidjo Kwempa singles (Ceci Cela, Dipanda, Muzingle and Mystique) who were saving Viva La Musica, but the domination of Victoria Eleison was so strong that he abandoned Viva La Musica again on their own for 8 months in Kinshasa and he went on exil on some point in 1987 bringing a big part of Viva La Musica to Paris which made the press and Victoria-fanatics mock him, saying that he ran away because of Victoria's succes. He made a strong comeback in 1994 with his solo album Foridoles, after that Congolese musicfans were complaining about him only focussing on worldmusic and alot of people claiming that he was profiting on the succes of Stino, Joly, Reddy's solo albums (Injustice,Femme sans Bijoux, Cadeau d'Amitie and Queen Lina) who were keeping him alive and that he had to stop music making because he "finished". But Wemba proved them a wrong with Foridoles.

D.V. Muanda used to work for General Motors and was paid well there. He got fired because of Zaiko. His boss wanted to have Zaiko on his wedding and D.V. Muanda accepted the contract, but the musicians prefered to follow another contract of the same day which they got from another co-founder (Zaiko had 4 co-founders). So they performed at another wedding that day which made Muanda's boss furious and got him fired. From that day he decided to dedicate himself 100% on Zaiko which became his life. Promising that he would fight against everybody who wanted to destroy his band. He said one day that everybody who would leave Zaiko, wouldn't go far in his career and it also happened (except Bozi and Wemba). The three Musketeers (Verckys Kiamuangana, Franco Luambo Makiadi & Tabu Ley) had done everything to split Zaiko like the way they killed other bands of the 3th generation (Thu Zahina, Les Maquisards, etc.) but it didn't work. They kept surviving after big splits (1974 and 1981). Some said that Franco started to respect DV Muanda despite his young age. It was also said that Tabu Ley and Franco started to call him a big sorcerer. Alot of people were fearing him and he wasn't denieying the rumors that were said about him. He was only 35 years old when he died.

back in the days  i remember i saw that dv said in a magazine "jeune pour jeune"  clearly that music was all about witchcraft and that musicians were the puppets of the devil
