Likinga (RIP) was in prison in Portugal.

Likinga never left, when he was released from prison, he decided to join Zaiko Familia Dei. He decided to join Familia Dei-camp because they were only one who were visiting him when he was in prison. But he didn't stay long in Familia Dei when they came in Europe he decided to leave and went to record a disc with Pepe Felly Manuaku.

Likinga went in prison just before the recordings of On Gagne le Proces. There was a conflict of him against some admins of Zaiko (Nyoka Longo, Zamuangana, Matima), so he wanted to prove them a point by trying to get a huge amount of money in one time by going to Portugal without informing anyone, to try to sell a huge amount of weed there. But he was immediatly arrested when he came on the airport and got a sentenced 5 years of prison.

In my opinion I felt like Likinga was depressed after his release from prison.

And after the record with Manuaku, he recorded his first very beautiful album Maliya (lack of promotion).

But Pepe Kalle had worries of Likinga that was in prison, dedicating to him a song Souci Ya Likinga.

In my opinion I felt like Likinga was depressed after his release from prison.

From 1992 until 1997 he wasn't singing anymore until he came back on the album Boom Des As then he did a featuring with Youlou Mabiala.
