It’s funny how the mabanga cycles goes. For every time period there’s 2-3 guys who are extremely flamboyant And you hear often. Exactly 20 years ago it was Didi Kinuani, Adam Bombole (an Arab @Manzambi), Papito Mabala, Carzodo Muamba, and Etepe Buengo among others.

A lot of them still have their money, but lost the obsession they used to have. Many other guys were wealthy for a short amount of time, then went broke. Despite that, their names are immortalized in hit songs. 

Right now the guys in vogue are Doc Jeff Leteta(“il est vraiment docteur”- Goldberg vice  )Lizarazu Mavambu, Roi Manitou, and this guy

Is/was Papito Mbala a different person from Tchatcho Mbala or that's the same person from Bana Lunda fame?

Papito Mbala and Tchatcho Mbala are two different persons. Tchatcho Mbala was Jonas Savimpi's protege from the late 80s until the mid 90s (when the MPLA started to take the diamonds mines of Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul which all went to Didi Kinuani's favor who was then close to Eduardo Dos Santos). Papitsho aka' Papito, sold back in 1995, a record amoung of diamonds. That's why back in 1996 and 1997, JB Mpiana used often to say in concerts "le record de l'annee, c'est Papito Mbala".
