So because of B.E.K. not having a good generic means that Monde Arabe was Koffi's last good album ? That doesn't make sense, because B.E.K. has 17 songs with Bendele being one of them, while Monde Arabe has 18 songs with some songs like Sexy Pop, Essili and Mopao en Or not being on the top, while on B.E.K. all songs were top notch, except Bendele.

Which made Koffi decided to release it only on DVD. After the Europe Tour Koffi already planned to unsettle Gessac, Joss Diena, Hono Kapanga and Gabbana slowly and wasn't really motivated anymore to put a generic on his album. So he planned to not release a generic on his album, but changed on the last minute his mind to please his fans of the young generation and those living in Western Africa, so he put Bendele as last song. I remember journalist Paulin Mukendi attacking Koffi for that in an interview made after the release of B.E.K. and Koffi keeping repeating that Bill Clinton is the best atalaku in Congo, just a way to humilate Gessac.

I ageee with you (as always). I prefer have a « bendele » than have « sexy pop », « esili », « mopao en or », too much filer in monde arabe.
Plus the sebenes in monde arabe, in my opinion, weren’t that good.

I liked the generics of Monde Arabe along with Riziki and Respect. But I didn't like Mopoa en Or and Rouge A Levre. It was like they recorded those songs quickly because of the demand from donors or so that there would be some balance between rumba's and sebenes.

Me I also prefer the generic L'Autre La , except Heros National because it’s too much to filer too like a synthetic for me, but an good drum (Titina al capone).

Another notable thing on BEK sadly was the beginning of the overuse of Cindy Le Coeur. Instead of putting some vocals of singers like old veterans Suzuki and the late Babia Ndonga, he barely promoted the other singers like JTrois who could have been a better use for Koffi and only putted so much Cindy sounding and the sexual moaning sounds were unneccassary. It was the beginning that Koffi forgot about music and only looked at Cindy le Coeur.

@Matebu, you are right sir. It is sad because I miss the Koffi of even 2003 when he released Affaire D'Affaire. That is one of his greatest works ever.

If he had promoted Babia & Suzuki again, then it would have beenthe end of his career. Using Cindy a lot brought something new in Koffi’s music and it brought with him the comeback of female singers in the Congolese music-scene, with almost all bands recruiting female singers, solo artists like Laurette La Perle appearing. The impact of B.E.K. would be less if there wasn’t Cindy, because Koffi was then almost finished. If you listen and read  the review of journalists, music-fanatics you will know that Cindy saved him because they used then to say « eloko ya sika eza te » (there isn’t something new).

The mistake of Koffi was to not come with a group-album for the Quartier Latin-members (Joss Diena, J3, Asso, etc.). Instead of that, he started to unsettle them one by one and Quartier Latin, slowly becoming orchestre d’accompagnement like it used to be back in the years 1986-1992. If he came with a group-album after B.E.K., then the story would have been very different.

Don’t forget that Koffi was very hurt by Fally’s departure and didn’t want to get a third big deception after Fally & Academia. That’s also why he didn’t really want to promote the big stars. Alot of people don’t know that the song Ikea, had to be a duet of Koffi & Joss Diena.

I get your point but what I meant was that Koffi could have had two songs with Babia and Suzuki singing and then the rest having the new faces as well as Cindy but not overuse Cindy like he would do after the BEK album. That is what I meant. BTW why would he bring back Babia and Suzuki into the fold during the 2007-08 period.

Babia wasn’t himself anymore (he used then to be  like Adjani) making since 2003  unnoticed departures and comebacks. Suzuki was broke and finished and asked Koffi if he could return, making his comeback in 2006.
