I know the Legend Dikembe Mutombo won Defensive Player Of The Year many many times but I don"t know about other successful Congolese past players? I know that Emmamuel Mudiay, Bismack Biyombo, Clint Capela (which is Swiss) and Bruno Fernandes (whom is Angolan) play in the NBA but they aren't making a significant impact unfortunately

@Manzambi - Every time I say Didier Mbenga, it’s obligatory that I add “Congo Cash” with how synonymous that nickname became. Thank you Kobe Bryant (RIP) for popularizing the nickname during the 2009-2010 championship run.

I always find it amazing that Dik Dik Mutombo never won a championship with all the tesms he was a part of. He and Hakeem Olajuwon were really the two guys that opened the door for all the top level African leaders players in the NBA now

Biyombo would be a  star role player on a better team. Mudiay has been pretty disappointing , I thought he’d be better

Clint Capela unfortunately will fall into obscurity with the trade to Atlanta

No disrespect to Kobe but I think that the Finals qere Dikembe Mutombo and Allen Iverson faced the Lakers was rigged. Allen Iverson was hated by the NBA Head Commisioners David Stern (RIP) and Adam Silver because he really didn't care about playimg for the team and/or give a good name to the NBA furthermore the public hated him because once they faced Chicago where Michael Jordan was playing Allen Iverson wanted to humiliate Michael by crossing him over the first time he saw MJ. So even thoufh the 76ers could have won. NBA referees did everything to make he Lakers win it happened even with the Sacramento Kings of Chris Webber



Furthermore NBA hates small market teams winning NBA championship because it really drops the viewers ratings

I think Biyombo got caught in a combination of bad team and era transitioning. Biyombo is a 2.06 meters defensive center without a lot of points in his hands and right now where teams have centers who shoot from 3 Biyombo is just surpassed plus he always played in bad teams (Hornets/Bobcats, Magic, Raptors way before they had Championship winning aspiration and niw again Charlotte) so it really doesn't help his cause. I think that if he was in a team like the Lakers or the Golden Stae Warriors with Durant Curry Thompson Green he would have a chance.
Mudiay I think it is the fact that he developed his a game in China. China it is not known for having big shooters they are tall but really has terrible shot technique so Mudiay has that kinda of problem and I think he is in it for the money Capela is a good player but come on Houston can't win a title with how they are playing
