In general. Usually I see that Congolese from Brazza are more serious with life while Congolese people from Kin sometimes (especially those from Kinshasa) feel like life is a big adventure

Why does Brazza have a better quality of life than Kinshasa?

Simple - Kinshasa has a population of 11 million in a city that was built for 1 million inhabitants max.

Brazza has a population of 1.8 million in a city built to handle around a million.

Facilities just aren’t there to support most people to have a decent quality way of life. I anticipate on our brothers to give a detailed post, but the population problem is the root cause.

Also, the complete incompetence of Kin mayors like Ya Andre Kimbuta and now Gentiny Ngobila pushing the bribery agenda on the poor and working class

@Matebu, 100% true.

Also don't forget that Zaire (Dr Congo), is down since the 70s, because of the Zairiansiation with the money being unstable, it made alot of people then doing business in Brazzaville, because of its money Franc CFA. Because the Franc CFA was stronger then the Zaire (which value was becoming with the day, lower and lower),  that's why at some point alot of people in Dr Congo started to call Congo Brazzaville, CFA (till this day, they call them Bana CFA). The crazy thing is that the same France CFA is blocking the economy of all former colonies of French-Africa (Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, etc.). Dr Congo never recovered from its fall since the Zairianisation, it made many people living in the interior moving to Kinshasa, looking for better life, while Kinshasa was and is already overpopulated.

If I remember well, I made a thread about JB Mpiana singing about those problems comparing it to the old songs of Zaiko from the 70s, who were the opposite of it and a thread about Bana Lunda, which was about people moving to Angola in Lunda Norte & Sud, looking for diamonds. Because that there weren't jobs anymore, despite having all kind of university degree.

You must know that the majority of people coming from Brazzaville who live in Europe, are people who had a normal/decent life. But came in Europe, because of Sassou's regime and back in the 90s and 80s, it was very easy for them to get a visa for Europe, most were making those aller-retours, because life used to be very good in Congo Brazzaville, because of its oil. Until that Sassou really messed everything up.

While the since the late 80s/early 90s, there is a big strom of people from Dr Congo. Because life isn't good there. If life was good, then wouldn't have alot of Congolese people from Kinshasa, having in Europe. Which make people of different layers of the society being mixed in Europe, with those mostly coming from poor areas not really being organised or taking life serious, because they weren't taught that way or see that their achieved something big their life by coming in Europe.

Back in the mid 80s, you had more people from Congo Brazzaville living in Europe then those coming from Zaire. Having just a few in Paris and Switserland, the majority living in Belgium (most used then just to be students and the rest former students who didn't want to return because of the shame of not having finished university). Many were then prefering to return to Kinshasa. So from the 80s you had a flood of Bana Ndjili (all from different layers of society in Kinshasa), who were coming to Europe with fake visa, since some coming from Ndjili used to work at the airport and made then a business from making fake visa, then you had the generation of Bana Rally (who were coming to Europe through West Africa). First those of Nigeria (Bana Balia Ngando) coming from different layers of Kinshasa, Benin/Togo, those who came via Maroc and now many who come through Greece and Turkey.

Having people from normal areas, but don't get to chance to get a visa, but also those who come from areas who aren't seen as good, areas like Kimbanseke, Bumbu, Selembao, Ngaba, Kisenso and  Makala. But them claiming that they are of Bandal, Ngiri-Ngiri, Yolo, Matete, Lemba or Ndjili, because of shame.

More and more buildings are starting to appear like this. Zero effort to have a building regulations by government in Kinshasa.  Unfortunately people have lost lives when they crumble

In fact I have mever met a Comgo Brazza guy who was in Europe because he was struggling, yes they are way less but it is hard to see them running away for financial reasons as you said, while it is full of Congolese in Europe

Mfumu do you think that Kinshasa situation and DR Congo in general will ever change in general?

No, don't that it will change. Maybe in an economic aspect like India, Brazil and China, but not that the majority of the population will eat more than 4 times in a day, all children going to school, etc.
