I’ve alot of respect for Modogo, but he gives twice a year an interview about QL and starts to get boring. Ado already interviewed him 4 times since he lives in Paris. He must a buy a ticket for Lebou to come to Paris to do his part (I know that it will be difficult to understand him).

I want Modogo to talk more about academia since he was there from the beginning till the end. Lebou needs to get interviewed he’s been very quiet in recent years since he’s in Montreal now.

With Sam it will also be boring because he also makes every year interviews about Quartier Latin. Past year he made like 6 interviews like that. Popolipo will never come, because he's still angry about Koffi. When he's interviewed on radiostations, he mostly avoid questions about his depature from Quartier Latin. I remember him back in 2010, having an interview with Cesar Ngadi, Ropuph Mbutanganga and Eliane about his career and his face changed immediatly when they started to ask about Quartier Latin and his depature.

I remember Digitalcongo writing about that, blaming then Bozi Boziana for that while he's the oldest of them all plus they were almost all responsible for that. That's one of the reasons that I don't like Clan Wenge (espcially Wenge Maison Mere), they copied blindly Kester's ideology without knowing all the ethics, thinking that they are above everyone. You know that you are all of one country and then behaving like this. If it was a national award then I could understand, but not something international like Kora Awards.

What happened to Kester at Kora Awards?

Kester wasn't at the Kora Awards. With Clan Wenge copying Kester's ideology, I was alluding to the way musicians of Clan Wenge weren't saluting their collegues of other bands (sans saluta like Kester liked to say) and then looking in the sky with that arrogant face-expression(Kester used to call that figure ya ba benkoka), thinking that they were suprerior than everyone, during ceremonies that were reuninating all artists.

I'm surprised that Modogo said that Wazekwa was cool with when they took the plane towards SA. Because in that article of Digitalcongo they were acting like Wazekwa was very towards everyone along with Bozi.

Towards the end of the interview (I don't know which minute exactly), he's talking about the experience of Kora Awards 2001 and Lokua Kanza (he was part of the jury) being mad at them, the way they were behaving at the Kora Awards, while they were all from the same country and defending the flag of DR Congo.

wazekwa even said that in an interview that he was ashamed when he saw lokua's reaction (and in private he says he did not like confronting jb and werra too openly because of how crazy their fans were so he kept his feelings inside)

Ahhh Ado Yuhe loves asking former QL musicians questions about the dancers just leave it alone man it’s getting old.

The only thing that I didn't understand, was the way Modogo said that they were preparing and rehearsing Koffi's solo albums once they came in Europe (recording it then immediatly), while guys like Willy Bula, Do Akongo and someone else (I think Eric Tutsi or Babia R.I.P.), said that they were preparing both Quartier Latin and Koffi's solo albums on the same time in Kinshasa. Thinking about that, maybe it were just songs were they had vocals (songs like Dossier du Jour, Mokuwa, Micko), which were then only 2/3 songs of the 11 that Koffi was preparing. I remember Sam, Depitcho, Babia singing the first couplet of Nul n'est Parfait (surely modified after Sam's depature) when they arrived in London to perform at Brixton Academy , (btw Academia also used that part in Speed Life) and Modogo singing along with Koffi parts of Non Assistance in the car (after Olympia) in the videotape "Papa Wemba-Koffi Olomide, Qui Dit Vraie?", having already sung a part with an acoustic guitar at his home before that his dancers came to respond and attack Wemba's dancers (from which 3 ran away).

Holy crap, I didn't know Mboshi stayed with Quartier Latin right when Academia was formed! He's even rehearsing with CNN and the new members of Quartier Latin at the 1hr and 14min mark.

Did he seriously think his spot would be safe or did he think Academia couldn't survive without Koffi? Because him and CNN are similar in voice, I would assume a code 12.

Like I said several times hear, Mboshi returned with Quartier Latin, but Koffi became furious when he heard Somono mentioning his name on tv, claiming that he was with them and joining them very soon, which wasn't true (but a strategy to use, to get Mboshi in Academia, they would try the same thing by mentioning Assitou Mbo and Kisindjora in their album Sanction, but it didn't work that time). So from then Koffi started to ignore him and letting animate Mboshi less and at some point even leaving behind a trip in Cameroon.



Here's Mboshi explaining the whole story and how Jhymmy Mukelenge (he was Academia's first manager before that they signed with Secteur A) managed to get him in Europe, after trying twice, getting blocked by Koffi but Wemba helping then and a guy working at the airport getting fired for blocking Mboshi in Kinshasa.
