I was really dissapointed when I bought the DVD.  I thought that they would perform Shopping, Miss Nicole, Shambouyi, Retour Riva, Number Two, Mansouri S., Magie, Amen and Likombe, but it didn't happen. I can see that they weren't prepared and didn't rehearse well. Koffi had to ask for advise from Nyoka Longo and Papa Wemba who were often performing well, when they were giving those anniversaries of their bands. Its weird to see Eric Tutsi rehearshing Dulcinee, but he didn't show up during the concert (returning quickly to Brazzaville, I don't know what happened).


Also I didn't like the duo of Gessac and Ordinateur when animating ndombolo and those old lines of Mboshi. They were really missing a tenor-atalaku.

Sam Tshintu reminded him about that 2 years after the event, saying that they were his true soldies instead of the 2 F's he were keeping humilating him. As reaction to Koffi's interview with Naty Lokole before the Koffi chante Antoine-event (asking who of the former QL-members could do a chante Koffi and Koffi then saying Nathalie Makoma, Cindy Le Coeur and Meje 30. I think that he wanted indirectly humilate Babia who kept forcing on tv that he wanted to have a Babia chante Koffi-event.).

I also didn't like the way he humilated Beevans. He first ignored him, later on he tought he was Suzuki (I think he wanted to prepare a 12 against Suzuki) and after that Beevans finished his accapella, he didn't even took the effort to talk about his history in the band or praise him like the way he did to Depitcho, Champion, Lebou and Bouro.

Suzuki left Quartier Latin in December 2009 right ? Why he did a 12 on him he didn't even left him sing a lot in BEK along with other singers which surprised me a lot. Personnally for me Quartier Latin ended after Danger de Mort (that's my opinion)

I don't know but the relation with Suzuki was a bit strange. He replaced Joss Diena as chef d'orchestre for a moment, but he didn't stay it for a long time. Then he performed at Zenith and FIKIN.


Suzuki left in somewhere in 2011, after spending months long in Europe. I remember him defending Koffi about those issues he had with the French justice about the dancers on Congomikili, promoting then also Abacadabra and the show that didn't happen at Bercy for 28 November 2010.

It's crazy how he managed to have a decent music career and an Olympia on his name

Adolphe is a charismatic guy, great dancer for a big fellow, and Wenge Tonya Tonya had a strong team of musicians. Aside from that, there's no way he could have made it.

He was JB Mpiana's friend and used first to dance with Defao on Tele Zaire, then JB Mpiana brought him to Wenge BCBG in order to get clothes. Because Adolphe's father was very rich, but in his first years, his mic was always on off. Then in 1986 he went to Europe to study. He would rejoin Wenge when they came to Europe participating in the song Eve Sukali. Then became immediatly a keymember when he arrived in Kinshasa, making Manda Chante and Alain Mpela angry, because they were fighting over the 4th mic (they thought that there would finally be alot of space since that Ricoco and Marie Paul left).

Manda Chante left Wenge Musica, because he strted to get big bumps on his face during their Europe-tour. Then after that he returned to Kinshasa, it became worser. He met Defao and they went to a witchdoctor in Kinsantu, who claimed then it was JB Mpiana, he gave him some traditional medicines. When he recovered he went to fight with Willy Star, because he accused him being the guy who was sended by JB to get those bumps.

Manda Chante isn't a difficult character to deal with, its just that he isn't a yes-man like other and he don't like to get disrespected. I remember him being furious for being called petit by Adolphe in an interview with Manda Tchebwa back in the days of the war El Paris vs Wenge 4x4 and he went quickly for an interview to react against him.

Manda Chante left El Paris, because he was forced out by Marie Paul who wanted to become the sole leader. Marie Paul didn't want to share the money he got in Tembo (a diamond village in Lunda Norte, Angola where Tchatcho Mbala was based) where he performed on his own. Also he wasn't informed anymore if there was concert, having missed already 3 concerts. Then once when he came to a rehearshal, Marie Paul came and said that his musicians had to choose him or Manda Chante, setting then a line and everybody choosing for Marie Paul (being scared). So that's the moment that Manda Chante left, Marie Paul then sending musicians to insult him on the tv and doing spiritual attacks (Manda Chante then looking help to pastors like Dennie Lessie, hence why he gave those pastors a shout-out on the generic of his first album).

The beef of Manda Chante and Fally Ipupa was fake. It was concept made by journalist Gaspard Love. Who was then asking controversial questions to musicians in order to get angry reactions and cutting his parts out, and copy paste it together, which made it look like a beef. You could every week see those beefs on tv of musicians of the bands Maison Mere, BCBG, Quartier Latin, Nouvelle Ecriture, Tonya Tonya attacking each other. While it was not true. I remember even seeing a video of Lutumba Simaro and Madilu System attacking each other, Koffi was furious about that saying that it was disrespectful to do things like that with old people.
