Thanks for that info...Does this actually bring back the same 'polemique' (if you call it) that it is actually better to record in Europe than in Kin. Correct me if I am wrong but I feel like albums recorded in Kin lack depth...All those albums mentioned have a rounded sound, and  I feel like that is real Congolese Rumba music. (Except Fally's album in my humble opinion)
You simply can compare the albums of Koffi or Werra that were recorded in Kin vs in Europe.
The above mentioned albums are wonderful and I just wish today we had albums of the same caliber...I guess we have to wait and wait....

That's because most albums who were recorded in Kinshasa from the mid 80s you hadn't modern studios in Kinshasa with artists prefering to record in Europe or in Brazzaville at the modern studio IAD. Later on from 2003 when it started to get hard to get visa's, artists started to record their albums in Kinshasa (Somo Trop, B.E.K., Kipe Ya Yo, Quel Est Ton Probleme, Danger de Mort, Anti Terro, Alerte Generale, etc.) with mobile-studios coming from Europe. Most albums were then not really recorded with strong determination or motivation, because the competiton wasn't that high anymore like before 2003, because they couldn't do something better than the golden years of 1998-2003, with also the fact that they not more recording next to their fans/groupies/grand preters in Europe, who were giving them money when record plus the deception of not getting visa's and the bad conditions in Kinshasa (the electricity always falling out or recording with a "group electrogene").

But about QEDT, I think that the album would have been better if it had just 12 songs. Picking only Soke, Diki Diki, Jao Ndombele, Zazou, 3eme Doigt, Maboko Pamba, 12 Heures, Kamasutra, Je t'attends, Bequille, Andy Mputu and the first generic.

Defao's Salanoki and Copinage albums were of good quality compare to Force D' Intervention Rapide, and they were all recorded at Ndiaye studios. why? poor arrangement or what?

I thought it was Ferre imitating Papa Wemba I am shocked to know that it wasn't actually Ferre

I don't maybe he coudn't the high notes that day in the studio or he wanted just to thank him for having participated to the song by giving him one vocal in the song. There are multiple songs in the Congolese music-history where there were just one vocal from a session-singer or bandmember.

mwa I don't really see a big difference between Defao's albums Sala Noki & Copinage and Intervention Rapide of Wenge. Its just the sound of snare-sound of drums who is really high. But I think that they did that to let the kra-kra-kra paritions of Kakol being audible.
