It is just the old odemba-music style that TPOK Jazz used to play in the 80s, but they play it with the acoustic guitar.

Can you please link me videos and/or songs? It is a style I hear a lot of times by everyone but never grasp what it is or why it got so much popular to the point 80% of rhumba songs are in Odemba style
